Mrs. Tiffany K. Toombs

Mrs. Tiffany K. Toombs, affectionately known as “TIP,” the daughter of Shirley and Johnnie Martin was born on July 5, 1974 in Edgecombe County. She peacefully departed this life on August 25, 2023 at the home of her mom and dad. Tiffany attended West Martin Elementary in Oak City for her early school years. She graduated from Roanoke High School in Robersonville, NC in 1992. Tiffany had a love for hair and went right into the Cosmetology program at Edgecombe Community College, graduating in 1993. Since that time she showed her love for hair through creative hair styles, her spirit, clients and teaching. Tiffany has educated others by teaching Cosmetology at Martin Community College, Miller-Motte and Bertie High School. This would lead to giving others an opportunity to become a Hair Stylist or maybe owning their own salon. In the year of 1992, she had her very own shop built, working there for 30 plus years, doing exactly what she loved. She also ventured out as a mobile stylist, going to many of her client’s homes doing hair. We all know she loved hair, but she also had a love for fashion. Every time she stepped out she was absolutely BEAUTIFUL from head to toe!! On October 11, 2008 she married the man of her dreams Mr. Craig Toombs. A loving and beautiful couple whenever you saw them together. These two have even been called the celebrity couple. When they stepped out they stepped out!! Tiffany leaves to mourn her best friend and loving husband of 15 years, Mr. Craig Toombs of Greenville NC; two bonus children, Craig Toombs Jr. of Kansas City, MO and Madyson Cooper of Fayetteville NC; her mother and father, Johnnie and Shirley Martin of Oak City NC; In-laws Reverend Audrey and Liliane Toombs of Junction City, KS; two siblings, Stephen Kearney (Angelia) of Oak City NC, Brian Kearney (Keysha) of Jamesville, NC; two sisters-in-law, Francoise Pinnix of Fort Worth, TX and Francine Carter of Kansas City, KS; one nephew, Stephan Kearney; two nieces Tyasia and Keysha Kearney; three uncles, William Bellamy, Ulysses Bellamy (Pauline) and Jasper Martin; three aunts, Rosa Boddie (Cecil), Rosie House, and Vivian Chance (Nathan); two great aunts, Olivia Higgs and Ruth Langley; her very special friends, who were like ‘sisters’ and best friends; many of her extra, extra special friends and clients who she revered as family. A host of many other relatives, family and friends.
