Mr Samuel T Roberson

DEACON SAMUEL T. ROBERSON “S.T.” husband of the late Mother Dr. Pennie E. Roberson was born in Robersonville, N.C. on October 12, 1926. He departed this life Sunday, November 20, 2016 at his home. Deacon Samuel T. Roberson attended Post Stokes Elementary School and Bethel Union School. From there he entered the Army on November 29, 1946 and received an honorable discharge on November 28, 1949. He fought in World War II and received a World War II Victory Medal. When he was talking to his children about two weeks before he passed we asked him to speak Japanese and he carried on a conversation in Japanese. He was trained in the Army as a brick masonry. Deacon Samuel T. Roberson worked in Richmond, Virginia after he came out of the service. He also worked at the Williamston Fertilizer plant until it close; he was a Union shop steward. Then he helped build the Robersonville Products (Hallmark Cards) with the contractors. He also worked at Hallmark Cards as a machine operator. Daddy would never take welfare and he would never let anyone talk down to him. He gave them respect and he expected respect back. Deacon Samuel T. Roberson realizing the need for a Christian relationship with the LORD joined Belmont Baptist Missionary Baptist Church which is our family church. His mother was an active Mother until she died. He sung in the choir, and with the male chorus as well as serving on the Deacon Board. He and his wife sung beautiful songs for GOD together. CHECK YEARS OF MARRIAGE He met and married Pennie Saunders and to this blessed union five children were born Dorothy, Vera, Evelyn, Jeannie and Faeroes. Our father and mother-Deacon Samuel Roberson and his wife shared a life of church worship, husband and wife bible lessons together, morning prayers, and fasting for their children and family. They loved every pastor and their church home. He used to say he wanted to be alive when they moved from Old Belmont to New Belmont. God blessed them both to see the New Belmont. Dad was a man of brotherly love, he would stand as a Deacon and say,” I love my family, I love my neighbors and I have no enemies.” Daddy said he married a special lady, he missed her so much.He was a great husband, a great father and a great provider. Using his brick masonry training he along with his wife and three oldest children build the home on Railroad Street from a shell home. Deacon Samuel T. Roberson “S.T.” leaves to cherish his loving memories, his beloved children, Dorothy Moore, Dr. Vera Alexander (ArchBishop Willie)of Robersonville, NC, Evelyn Teele (Larry) of Everett, NC, Faeroes Roberson of Robersonville , NC, Jeannie Roberson of Rocky Mount, NC; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; sisters, Annie V.(Joseph) of Richmond, VA, Gladys Briley of Maryland, Mattolyn Staton(Wilbur) of Robersonville, NC; one brother, Ronnie Roberson(Maxine) of Brooklyn, NY; a host of dear friends and relatives.
