Tributes

Rosa Mae Perry Elliott was born May 2, 1947 to the late Katie Hazel Moring and Daniel Moring. She departed this earthly life on Tuesday, November 26, 2024. Rosa joined church of God in Christ in her early years of life. Later on she joined Ryan’s Grove where she enjoyed singing in the choir. Rosa worked for George C. Moore for many years. She later begins working at Apricot in Hertford, NC as a machine operator. She stopped working for a while and started back working at Pastor Harpo’s thrift store. She enjoyed working there and meeting customers and making sales. Rosa loved going to church and singing in the choir, her favorite song of all times was “Jesus” by Shirley Caesar. She enjoyed playing Bingo, every Monday and Thursday night. While relaxing at home she enjoyed playing Phase 10 with her daughters. Rosa loved playing with her grandkids and singing Karaoke. Some of her favorite shows were Family Feud she knew every answer because she has seen every show, watching her cowboys show like, Gun Smoke, High Chapperal. But of all the things she enjoyed nothing was like her stories, she watched them faithfully if you were to call her at 12:30 she would say “I’ll call you back, I’m trying to watch my stories. She would say, “Call me back at 2:00pm.” Rosa was a loving mother who loved her children and grandchildren. Rosa was preceded in death by her loving husband, Milton Elliott; her parents, Daniel and Katie Moring; her two sisters, Hazel and Sharlene Moring; her only niece, Lakita Chante Moring. Rosa leaves to cherish her memories, her four children, Dean (Sylvia), Haywood (Evelyn), Lahoma and Paloma all of Edenton, NC; two stepdaughters, Linda Elliott, Bessie Holley (Raymond); eight grandchildren, DJ, Mama, Osha, Nikki, Lil Mike, Latoya, Mauje and BamBam; eleven great-grandchildren, Emoree, Reign, JJ, TJ, Amir, Alani, Ja’Sean,, Merah, Aubree, Fat Kat, NY; one great-great grandson, Messiah; her beloved brother, Daniel Morring, Sr. “Porky” of Waterbury, CT; her aunt, Ms. Arlene Sessoms of Edenton, NC; a host of brothers-in-law; special family and friends.
