Deacon Ronnie Eugene Alston, the youngest of 8 children, was born June 29th, 1962, in Robersonville N.C. to the Late Lewis T and Mary Hyman Alston. Monday morning September 8th, 2025, Deacon Alston heard His Lord say unto him” Well done you good and faithful servant; you have been Faithful over a little, I will make you ruler over many things: Enter the Joy of your Lord” Matthew 25:23 Deacon Alston was about that Panther Pride. He was a proud graduate of North Pitt’s High School Class of 1981. During his high school years Ronnie was in the marching band where he played the trumpet like no one else. Ronnie followed in his brother Milton’s path by playing football defensive tackle for the Panthers. It was during his football years he was tagged “Tank” # 76. Ronnie cherished his high school years. During school or summertime Ronnie made the most of his time close Friends. Ronnie and close friends spent summers working helping local farmers harvest crops. When summer jobs were over Ronnie, Ben Donnie, Ronald, James, and his brother Terry rode bikes from home to Robersonville and back. Now home was either Momma (Mary L.) Miss. Annie Ruth Langley, Miss Carrie L Andrews. or Miss. Jean Moore. Just after high school, Ronnie began his adult life journey, gained employment at Grady White Boat Company (GWBC) in 1981. He was employed 44 years until his transition. Ronnie worked in mold repair, other departments. Ronnie loved his job, but he loved the friendship the Family he developed while on the job. Whether he brings food to a fellow brother at work, or attending annual Family and Friends Day, he felt joy from his job. His dedication to his job earned him countless accolades for his attendance and work performance. His GWBC Family included him in weddings, child births, Trial Sermons, Church inductions, you name it. His support, his love was unending. He was always ready to capture moments with his video camera. All his work Family meant a lot to him. Ronnie’s Faith and love for the Lord was his suit of armor. He promised his mother he was going to settle at a Church home where he can grow in the Lord. Honoring his mother and The Lord Ronnie joined Hayes Chapel Missionary Baptist Church at a young age. He worked as a trustee, on the video feed for Sunday service, cut the grass, anything the Church needed he wanted to be present to offer his time. Ronnie’s passion grew stronger for the Lord and wanted to do more work for his Church. March 3, 2019, Ronnie became a Deacon of his Church. Ronnie was proud, the Family was proud, so he knew Momma was to. Deacon Ronnie Alston had many talents. Ronnie knew sports. He knew high school stats, college and Professional stats. He knew draft picks, trades, agents like a real sports man loving his Dallas Cowboys beyond measure. Weekends were spent watching sports and all sports talking on the phone comparing play by play with his Family. It was a Great week at GWBC when Dallas Cowboys played and won. He did LOVE them DALLAS COWBOYS!!!! Ronnie is preceded in death by his sister, Brenda C. Alston; niece/sister, Teresa A. Alston; brothers, Milton R. Alston, Shelton R. Alston. Left to Celebrate his Life: sister, Mary Reid, of the home; brothers, Lewis C. Alston (Charlotte) of Tarboro, NC, Fredrick T. Alston of Greenville, NC, Terry D. Alston of Greenville, NC, Joe Crandell (Patricia) of Parmele, NC; aunts, Velma Perry of Louisburg, NC, Dorothy Hyman of New York, New York; uncles, Larry Hyman (Emma) of Goldsboro, NC, Donnie Hyman (Tina) of Brooklyn, New York; nephews, Brandon (Christina), Devin (Daisy), Jomare’, Lewis C. Jr. (Shirley), Fredrick T. Jr., Milton Jr. Montavious, Derrick Brown; nieces: niece/sister Tanya (Spencer Edwards), Stephanie, Melissa, Sandra, Judy. God Son: Langston Lynch, Cousins; The Alstons, Hymans, Browns, Webbs; Special Friends All Grady-White Boat Company Family, the Breakfast Club, Greenfield Terrence Community.
