On January 17, 1946 Namond Brewington, Jr. and Carrie Brewington welcomed their second born child into the world-Namond Earl. Namond grew up loving to play with toys, cars, and trucks. His fascination with cars and trucks grew as he got older. He often rode with his dad, while he worked, delivering oil to tobacco farmers. This made his love for being on the road and enjoying vehicles growing up. He never lost his love of fast cars and big trucks. At an early age Namond left North Carolina and moved to Baltimore, Maryland. There he worked for PMI Management and General Electric. He later moved to Oxen Hill, Maryland, where he worked for the Washington, DC, Maryland and Virginia Transit System. Namond was an easy going person, yet at the same time he was a no non-sense person. He said what he meant and meant what he said. He always enjoyed a good joke. He could always make his friends and relatives laugh. His "down to earth" personally endeared him to many people. Everyone knew that when he started to laugh and joke, he was about to spin a yarn! Namond's trademark look was to have a toothpick in his mouth. Very seldom would you ever see him without his toothpick. This was a habit that he started as a young man and maintained throughout his life. He loved his parents very much. His mom was his Queen until her death. He also loved his children dearly. In later years, Namond returned to North Carolina. At this time he met and married Carol Parker. They wed at Sycamore Hill Missionary Baptist Church on September 13, 2008. They enjoyed traveling, riding to the beach, attending family reunions and just being together. Namond's health began to fail during the last few years, and he was no longer able to do many of the things he onced enjoyed; however, he continued to enjoy the love of his wife and children. His loving sister, Rosa tenderly cared for him for several years, since he did not want to be in a nursing home. Namond seemed to be thriving and was making a great recovery; however, he developed another ailment and God called him home. His family and many friends will miss him; but we all know that he is in a better place, free of all pain, because he had given his life to the Lord. Those blessed to have cherished memories of Namond Earl Brewington are, his wife, Carol Parker Brewington; four sons, Namond Earl Brewington, II of New Jersey, Namond Lamar Brewington (Latasha), Edward Thomas Brewington both of Greenville, NC, Dana Parker (ShaNay) of South Carolina; five daughters, Debra Williams (Dwayne) of Baltimore, MD, Darian L. Brewington of Greenville, NC, Nikisha Brewington of Baltimore, MD, Kayla Sellman of Greenville, NC, Krystal Dolberry (Devin) of Raleigh, NC; two sisters and one brother, Rosa Lee Brewington, Jesse T. Brewington (Ezzie), Gloria Brewington Person (Harold) all of Greenville, NC; fifteen grandchildren, Kia Brewington, Eurka Brewington, Kanisha Akinsehinwa, Taylor Williams all of Baltimore, MD, Karsyn Brewington, Ashlyn Brewington, Brooklyn Brewington all of Greenville, NC, Tyjay Johnson of Baltimore, MD, Keara Parker, India Parker, Brooke Parker, Britain Parker, Carter Parker all of South Carolina, Devin Dolberry, Jr., Denver Dolberry both of Raleigh, NC; four great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
