Ms. Linda Knight

For we know that if our earthly house, this tent, is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. 2 Corinthians 5:1 Linda Crandell Knight “Lint” was presented as a gift to her parents, the late Mattie S. Crandell and the late Joe Louis Crandell on January 17, 1958. Linda was the fourth child born to this union in Pitt County. Later in her adult life, she moved to Martin County and later relocated to Wake County. At an early age, she attended Martin County School where she received her education and later graduated from Roanoke High School in 1976. In her adult life, she held many jobs; with the most recent one being a certified nursing assistant until her health declined. She loved helping others and bringing a smile to their faces. Linda met and married the late William Clyde Knight on December 2, 1995. From this union; she gained a stepson of whom she viewed as her son. Linda along with her late husband joined New Wynn Chapel Church under the leadership of Revered James T. Lindsey. At this establishment, she served on the usher board faithfully until her health declined. Although, she couldn’t continue to serve physically as an usher at church, serving others remained a big part of her life. Being in the kitchen was her specialty. For Linda loved to cook and could cook the most delicious home cooked meals. She also had the gift of entertaining others with good conversation, a kind heart and helping anyway she could. Her passion for life spoke volume, for she was truly thankful to God for her life, family and friends. Everyone that knew her, knew that she had a big heart for her Karen, Shannon, Shaquala, Jah’Zaria and Sh’Myah. Those girls were the apple of her eye. She will truly be missed by so many, but her legacy will carry on through her surviving loved ones. Linda was preceded in death by her late husband, William Clyde Knight; son, Dextonious Crandell; grandson, Kha’marion Brown; sister, Mary Purvis and many others. Linda leaves to cherish her precious memories; one daughter, Shannon Crandell of Knightdale, NC; one son, Victor (Marion) Knight of Winterville, NC; eight grandchildren, Shaquala Brown, Jah’Zaria Livingston, Sh’Myah Crandell, Shaquasia Knight, Da’Ziyiah Best, Martez Sherrod, Laquante Knight and Jahmear Knight; two great-grandchildren, Ke’Zyah Knight and Ke’Zeyan Knight; eight sisters, Karen Crandell of Robersonville, NC, Evelyn Clyburn of Knightdale, NC, JoAnne Shepherd (Iziah) of Knightdale, NC, Minister Shirley Roberson (Rev. Russell, Sr.) of Greenville, NC, Margaret Grimes (Charlie) of Robersonville, NC, Laverne Savage of Rocky Mount, NC, Linda Williams of Greenville, NC, and Mona Harris (John) of Robersonville, NC; three brothers, Wayne Crandell (Veda) of Garner, NC, Dwayne Crandell (Vivian) of Greenville, NC, Clifton Crandell (Ivonne) of Atlanta, GA; three sistersin-law,Lucille Duggins Corbett (Silbert) of Albany, NY, Eunice Knight of Williamston, NC, Deborah Knight of Greenville, NC; two brothers-in-law, William Clyde Brown (Cecilia) of Williamston, NC, Samuel Lewis Knight of Williamston, NC; one aunt, Thedell Stancil of Greenville, NC; one uncle, Shelton Crandell (Ethel) of Robersonville, NC; god-daughter, Tarshall Moore of Robersonville, NC; god-son: Frederick Bowers of Tarboro, NC; special friends, Wanda Little, Emma Sneed, Brenda Rodgers, Mary Ann Morning, Ada Crandell, Lisa Grimes; two special nieces, Kimberly Sheppard & Nika Davis; very special persons, Calvin Brown, Shekeeria Jones; a host of nieces,nephews, cousins, other family and friends.
