Letha Paige, daughter of the late Catherine Highsmith and Aulander Paige, was born on September 16, 1949, in Williamston, NC. She entered eternal life on Thursday, May 19, 2016. Her spirit is carried on by her spouse, Bobby Sr., as well as her seven children, twenty grandchildren, five siblings, four great grandchildren, and an extended family of relatives and friends from every walk of life. Letha's children include, Darryl Paige, Lisa Simmons Green (Michael), Bobby Simmons, Jr.(Taushia), Michael Simmons (partner, Cynthia Monares), DeShelia Simmons, Allison Simmons(partner, Ernest Crawford), Joey Simmons( partner, Nicole Cowart); her sisters, Susie Crosdale, Louise Griffin, Peggy Pattaway, Linda Paige; her brother, William McKinley Paige; her niece, Stephanie Paige. Letha cherished her family and had a great love for life. She was known for her generosity, compassion, and hospitality. Letha enjoyed preparing Thanksgiving Dinners, barbecues, and Sunday meals for her family and friends. She was loved by everyone in the neighborhood and most people referred to her as "mama". She treated everyone she met as family. Letha's love for people was evident in her ability to connect and make others laugh. Shad an infectious sense of humor and could make anyone smile on a bad day. She also was a fantastic dancer, energizing a room full of people, and effortlessly spreading joy everywhere. She loved to workout out to Destiny's Child's "Can You Keep Up". Letha was a member of Koinonia Christian Center Church for over ten years. She loved gospel music, her favorite artists were The Winans and Marvin Sapp. Despite Letha's illness, she chose to remain positive and hopeful while thinking of others and being helpful whenever she could. She demonstrated a fierce courage until the end, revealing her unshakable faith in God. Most of all, Letha's philosophy in life allowed her to experience joy in every moment and cherish her beloved family. Letha's favorite saying were: "Don't worry be happy" "I'm just sitting here looking cute" "Don't let anyone steal your joy" "To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord" "I don't know about you all but I'm ready to shake a tail feather" "Let not your heart be troubled" "I got this!"
