Kenyetta Sharpe Payton, a radiant soul who graced this world with her presence, journeyed through life with a heart overflowing with love and kindness. Born on January 16, 1981, in Greenville, NC, to Kim Langley and the late David Earl Langley, Sr., Kenyetta's life was a testament to the beauty of compassion and perseverance. Kenyetta embarked on her educational journey, pursuing her Masters Degree at Capella University, a testament to her commitment to personal growth and learning. Professionally, she shared her talents and dedication at East Carolina Anesthesia Associates, where her contributions were valued and respected. She was also driven by her entrepreneurial spirit, founding LIVE Designs. Through LIVE Designs, she brought creativity to life, elevating crafts and visions to new heights with her passion and innovation. Beyond her professional endeavors, Kenyetta poured her heart into her family and community. She was a loving wife, joining Lavonzell Payton in holy matrimony on June 17, 2017. She was a devoted mother, actively involved in her sons' lives and serving as a team mom for her youngest son's baseball team. As a loyal Dallas Cowboys fan, Kenyetta shared her passion for the team as a member of the Star Status Cowboys Connection (Greenville Chapter), where she served as Captain. A beacon of light and joy, Kenyetta's infectious laughter and warm spirit touched the lives of all who knew her. Her unwavering support, quick wit, and genuine friendship endeared her to many. In her multifaceted roles as a sister, comedian, friend, and pillar of strength, Kenyetta leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter that will forever illuminate the hearts of those she touched. Though she may have departed this earthly realm on Sunday, March 17, 2024, her spirit will continue to shine brightly, guiding and inspiring all who were fortunate enough to know her. Kenyetta is preceded by her grandparents, William Alton and Geraldine Langley (paternal); Alfonsa and Sudie Mae Sharpe (maternal); her father, David Langley, Sr.; her aunts, Patricia Carmack and Sharon Sharpe, and leaves to cherish her memories: her husband of 7 years, Lavonzell Payton; her mother, Kim Langley of Winterville, NC, 2 sons, Tyberias Pilgreen and Jayden Payton; 5 stepchildren, Brian Payton, Bria Payton, Tony Payton, Jasmine Atkinson and Davonta Tyson of Durham, NC; 2 siblings, Amber Langley and David Langley, Jr of Greenville, NC; 1 brother-in-law, Kevin Wright (Inez); 1 granddaughter, A’laya Pilgreen of Pactolus, NC; 1 uncle, Ernie Langley (Beverly) of Apex, NC; 5 aunts, Anne Joyner (Charlie), Sarah Blakley (Melvin), Sandra Joyner, Karen Thigpen (Jacques) and Sudie Mae Sharp, all of Greenville, NC and a host of relatives and friends.
