Psalm 28:7 Jasper Earl Rodgers was born on November 11, 1965 to the late James Rodgers and Verna Rodgers in Brooklyn, NY. Jasper attended public schools and was involved in wrestling and other sports. He also attended Automotive High School where his passion to be a mechanic started following in the footsteps of his father. Jasper also worked as a chef at the North Carolina Restaurant. He continued his journey and had two children, Shanicua Detres and Jasper Rodgers, Jr. Jasper moved to North Carolina in the late 80’s early 90’s. Starting his life over here, Jasper quickly went to work. He worked at Walmart, Perdue Farm, Ann’s House of Nuts and helped with building the Riverside Middle School. Jasper reunited back with the love of his life Lisa “Woo-shoo” James. They became one in June 2019 and to this union he was blessed with two bonus children, Reenasha James and Terrance James. During this time, he helped with building the New Riverside Middle School in 2002. After that Jasper health begin to fail. His granddaughter Tiana “Pigfeet” kept him on his toes. When Reenasha had a daughter, Jasper would always say that she had her for them he called her “Pigameat” these two grandbabies were special to him, and they had him wrapped around their fingers. Jasper was the life of the party, and you always knew he was in the building by his laugh or his singing. He always had his eyes on fried chicken and a 2-liter pepsi and his mom collards. Jasper Favorite quotes: “what did you cook? I haven’t eaten in two weeks,” “I don’t drink water because water is wet.” Jasper loved church he joined Back Swamp in 2013, he joined the male choir in 2014 and was very happy after giving his life to God. Jasper was preceded in death by his father, James Rodgers; sister, Sarah Rodgers; niece/Goddaughter, Shy’Venia Bazemore. Jasper leaves precious memories to his wife, Lisa Rodgers; children, Shanicua Detres of Williamston, NC, Jasper Rodgers, Jr of New York, Reenasha James of Williamston, NC, Terrance James of New York; thirteen grandchildren; Kiam Bethea, Nalige Johnson, Tiana Johnson, Juzstyce Peed, Dy’Leiiah Coffield, Tonyneia James, Terrance “TJ” Jr, Justice James; mother, Verna Rodgers; siblings, Sammy Rodgers of Williamston, NC, Janice Rodgers of New York, Angela Rodgers of Williamston, NC, Frances Rodgers of Williamston, JoAnna Rodgers (Ron) of New York, James Rodgers (Denise) of Williamston, NC, Monique Spruill (Levi) of Williamston, NC; brothers-in-law, Frankie James of Williamston, NC, Clinton James of Virginia; sister in law, Belinda James of Williamston, NC; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; his best friends, Mike Rollins and Timothy Bland.
