Mr. James Ham

James Rayvorn Ham, Sr., was born to the late James Rudolph Ham and Mary B. Peed Ham on October 22, 1954 in Aurora, NC. "Rayvorn" affectionately known as "Hambone" attended S.W. Snowden Elementary School and Aurora High School graduating in 1973. He became a member of New Growth Unlimited Church Ministries, Inc. (formerly Weeping Rachel Baptist Church) under the leadership of the late Pastor Grim at an early age. Rayvorn started working at Texasgulf Phosphate, Inc. (now PCS) in Aurora, NC in 1973 as a Maintenance Mechanic. He worked faithfully to care for his family 37 years until his health declined. Some of his favorite hobbies were fishing, carpentering, (with his best friend, Sherman Smith), bike riding (with his best friends, J.J. and Anthony Stevenson), car racing, spending quality time with his family (including Ivory the family pet), Willie McCullough, Jr. and mowing grass. Rayvorn having a strong-willed mind already made up before graduation, he married his high school sweetheart, Betty Little on January 4, 1974. To this union, two children were born. To carry on his memory, his loving wife, Betty of the home, son James Rayvorn Ham, Jr. (Terri) of Aurora, NC; daughter, Raneika Ham of Greenville, NC; son, Steven White of Aurora, NC; granddaughter, Zipporah Ham of Raleigh, NC; step-granddaughters, Kaliah, Indiah, and Londyn Moore of Aurora, NC; his mother, Mrs. Mary B. Ham of Aurora, NC; four sisters, Valerie Tuten and Arlene Ham both of Aurora, NC, Darlene Moore (Lloyed) of Blounts Creek, NC, and Debra Ham of Greenville, NC; three brothers, Dannie L. Ham (ZIna) of Chocowinity, NC, Charles R. Ham (Bettina) of Petersburg,VA, and Stewart N. Ham (Deborah) of Chocowinity, NC; four sisters-in-law, Pattie Williams of Washington, NC, Marilyn Miller of Blounts Creek, NC, Ola Stone (Reginald) of Knoxville, TN, Sylvia Little of Winston- Salem, NC; two brothers-in-law, Gleen Barnett of New Jersey and Carlos Moore of Maryland; two uncles, Clarence Peed, Sr. (Annie) of Aurora, NC, Isaac Smallwood (Helen) of Norfolk, VA; one great-aunt, Minister Annie Smallwood of Aurora, NC; a host of nieces, nephews; special friends that kept the yard looking good, James T. Ham (J. J.), C. J. Dixon and family, Dannie Ham, Stewart Ham and James Ward. Special thanks to his three brothers' for always looking out for him and his family: Dr. Bishop Stewart N. Ham, Sr., Dec.
