Mr. Dana Eugene Johnson, 52 slipped in the arms of Jesus suddenly at his home on Sunday, August 5, 2018. Dana was born on February 16, 1966 to Ms. Esther “Peaches” Johnson and Mr. Murphy Lewis Moore. Born in Beaufort County, Dana was a native of Pitt County, NC. Inasmuch as Dana enjoyed bowling, fishing, building, riding motorcycles, and cooking (grilling), he was a master craftsman with his hands as a welder and fabricator. Dana welded and fabricated the railings of Wright Auditorium. Dana was currently serving in Video Ministry at Koinonia Christian Center. A local entrepreneur, he valued family time together more than anything. He will be sadly missed by his family. Dana received his formal education in the Pitt County Public-Schools. He attended G.R. Whitfield, DH Conley High School (Graduated Class of 1985). He also attended Beaufort Community College, Pitt Community College, Clemson University, and Truck Master School. Dana was previously employed with Vermont America, Inc., Waste Industries, Inc., Federal Express, Inc., and Vidant Medical Center. He was currently employed with Hyster-Yale Materials Handling Group, Inc. Dana is preceded in death by his mother, Ms. Esther Johnson “Peaches” and brother, Tyrone Johnson. His memories will forever be cherished by his loving and devoted wife, Patricia Alexander Johnson, and his caring and dedicated son, Dana Johnson II of the home; one daughter, Swykiatrice Johnson, Greenville, NC; one granddaughter, Shakayla Johnson, Washington, NC; two brothers, Maurice (Sherrell), Simpson, NC and Dante Barrett, Grimesland, NC; mother and father-in-law, Doris Alexander Reynolds and Alphonso, New Bern, NC; father and mother-in-law, John and Lois Alexander New Orleans, LA; brother-in-law, Shawn (Kimberly) Alexander, Charlotte, NC; three aunts, Clara Solomon, Philadelphia, PA, Doris Johnson, Winterville, NC and Annie Pearl (William) Dudley, Greenville, NC; uncle, Willie Rae Johnson (Faye), Fredericksburg, VA; great aunt, Ella Hardy, Hamden, Conn; special cousins, Vallie (Deborah) Johnson, Chris (Pat) Johnson, Yvonne (Herbert) Moye, Carolyn Thompson, Ann Huggins and Dalton (Angela) Moore; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, neighbors and friends.
