Your gentle faith and patient smile Loving memories we recall You had a kind word for each you met And slept away, greatly loved by all Reverend Alphonza Little, Jr. the son of the late Alphonza Little, Sr. and Magaret Little was born in Martin County, April 13, 1941. He was educated in the Martin County Public Schools. At an early age he accepted Christ as his personal savior and joined Cedar Hill Missionary Baptist Church where he served as an usher, junior deacon, and then was called to preach his initial sermon. He was a faithful pastor at New Fellowship Baptist Church until his health failed. On Tuesday morning, June 27, 2017 at 4 o’clock an angel of peace entered Roanoke River Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Williamston, NC and released from suffering, Reverend Alphonza Little, Jr. He was preceded in death by one brother, Sonny Little; one sister, Alevis Reddick; one grandson, Alexander Little. On October 7, 1961, he married Glenda Faye Rogers and to this union two children were born. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Glenda of the home; two sons, Levary Little (Lavern) of Merry Hill, NC and Anthony Little (Kimberly) of Greenville, NC; ten grandchildren, Rasheena, Fred, Quentira, Kemonric, Tavarus, Ja’lil, Monica, Anthony Jr, Alandria, and Ezekial; eight great-grandchildren, Javion, Kashmire, Saniya, Javaughn, Irmonti, Jarvis, Kaden, and Amir; two sisters, Hazel Purvis (Harry) and Ruby Roberson of Williamston, NC; two brothers, James Little (Helena) of Williamston, NC and Lewis Little (Elsie) of Newark, NJ; mother-in-law, Nellie Rogers of Williamston, NC; brotherin- law, Frankie Rogers of Williamston, NC; four sisters-in-law, Priscilla Edwards, Clora James, and Annie Smith of Philadelphia, Nellie Little of New Jersey; Della Little of Williamston, NC; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. To Those I Love and Those Who Love Me When I am gone, release me. Let me go I have so many things to see and do. You mustn’t tie yourself to me with tears, Be happy, we had so many years. I gave you my love and you can only guess How much you gave to me in happiness. I thank you for the love you each have shown But now it’s time I traveled alone. So grieve a while for me if grieve you must Then let your grief be comforted by trust. It’s only for a while that we must part So bless those memories in your heart. I won’t be far away for life goes on So if you need me, call and I will come. Though you can’t see or touch me, I’ll be near with all my love around you soft and clear. And then, when you must come this way alone, I’ll greet you with a smile and “Welcome You Home” All our love, The Family
