April 29, 1960 - November 11, 2020
Tiki Ethel Jackson was born on April 29, 1960 in Boston, Massachusetts. She passed away peacefully on the evening of November 11, 2020 at the age of 60 years young. Tiki grew up in Boston, Massachusetts, and later relocated to Clermont, Florida. She was very well rounded and loved engaging with people. This was clearly shown through her career choices of waitressing, hairdressing, nail technician, and becoming a licensed Realtor and Broker. Tiki was an entrepreneur who owned and operated a beauty salon for many years. In 2001, she received the prestigious Black Achiever’s Business Owner Award for her salon Totally Unique! She later fully devoted her time to her real estate career, by joining the Keller Williams Classic III Realty company out of Clermont, Florida. She received numerous real estate honors and awards, including many Multi-Million Producer Awards, further cementing her love, talent and passion for real estate. Tiki relocated to North Carolina in 2019 where she continued to be employed by Keller Williams (KW Points East, Greenville). Tiki was a loving mother to her son Tito Wilson. She adored family but always longed to have a relationship with her father whom she searched for most of her adult life. Tiki went through great lengths to find him. To her surprise, her father was also on his own journey to find her as well; writing the Montel Williams show to request assistance in his quest. Eventually, her sister Jerri convinced her to give ancestry.com a try and with help from DeAndra, a paternal niece she had yet to meet, father and daughter were united! Their relationship blossomed, creating an unbreakable bond that truly echoed the saying that a father is a daughter’s first love. Along with finding her father, she found a whole new treasure chest of family, to include siblings, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins, that she never even knew she had. This expanded her family exponentially, and by God’s Grace, she enjoyed a loving relationship with them all. Tiki was a woman of faith and attended Hope International Church in Groveland, Florida, where she enjoyed a close relationship with her Pastors Tony McCoy and his lovely wife Jodie. Tiki lived her life in the following order: God, Family and Work. She loved the Lord and spent every day reading and posting scripture as well inspirational faith quotes on Facebook to encourage others. She enjoyed uplifting the people around her and was a very crafty and creative person. She did everything in love. Here smile was infectious, and her energy was so uplifting, she would make anyone forget when and why they were upset or having a bad day. Tiki was preceded in death by her mother, Joe Anne (Platt) Van-Tyle and sister, Michelle “Mickey” (Byrd) Daniels; her brothers, Jaques Allen, Terry Gorham; sister, Gwendolyn Lawrence (Larry Sr.), whom she unfortunately never met but would have loved, also preceded her. Remaining to celebrate her life is her loving son, Tito Wilson; father, Mark Ephraim Gorham; maternal siblings, Eric Wilson (Lisa), Tracey Johnson, Kimicoe Johnson, Jerri Johnson (Michael); paternal siblings, Charles Tyson (Jackie), Cora Gorham-White, Mark Gorham Jr. (Pam), Jerome Gorham (Melba), Etta Rhem (Anthony), Rosalind Brewington, Diedre Dunans (Cedric), Mark Brewington (Kim), Adrian Brewington (Laticia), Victoria Green, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Tiki will always be in our spirits, forever in our hearts, always loved, never forgotten, and sorely missed. She was truly a gift from God!
