For I am ready to be offered, and the time of department is at hand. I have fought a good fight. I have finished my course. I have kept the faith. II Tim 4:6-7 Sister Pearlie Mae Spruill, daughter of the late Peter and Carolina Little was born on May 30, 1946. On May 5, 2020 an angel entered the home of our dear Sister Pearlie Mae. Sister Pearlie Mae lived in Martin and Pitt County. She attended East End Elementary School. She earned her diploma in 1964. Sister Pearlie Mae married James Spruill, fifty-four years ago, and to this union two wonderful boys were born. Sister Pearlie Mae worked at Burrough Wellcome over thirty years and retired with the company. She enjoyed her retirement years traveling and dining with her family that loved her so dearly. Sister Pearlie Mae was a member of Union Grove Original Free Will Baptist Church, where she worked diligently in several different offices. She sang in the choir and ushered in her youth. Sister Pearlie Mae later became the secretary of Union Grove. She did a great job of recording the minutes at the church meetings and keeping the financial records in order. She was a member of the Women’s Fellowship Organization, delegate to the Union and traveled with the Original Free Will Baptist Conference Group to several states with the Bishop. Sister Pearlie Mae participated in our food ministry and made donations to the homeless shelter. Sister Pearlie was a generous woman.
