Mrs. Mary Ham Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Mother Mary Bell Ham came into world Friday, March 2, 1934, in Beaufort County and spent her life in Aurora North Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Ike Smallwood and Charlotte L. Peed, (Ellis Hamilton mid 40’s) / (James O. Adams mid 70’s). Mother Mary Bell Ham accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior at an early age and became a lifelong and active member of formerly Weeping Rachel Free Will Baptist Church. Weeping Rachel Free Will Baptist Church was later renamed Peedtown Baptist Church, and today known as New Growth Unlimited Ministries, Inc. As a lifelong member she served as a senior choir member, and president as well as a member of the Mothers Board. Mother Mary Bell Ham attended Beaufort County School at S.W. Snowden. Ensuring her family well-keeping she started as a farm worker and later secured employment at the Aurora Packing Company where she retired as of June 15, 2017. Mother Mary Bell Ham was joined in holy matrimony on March 13, 1953 to James Rudolph Ham who preceded her in death December 1994. Mother Mary Bell Ham was preceded by her son, James Rayvon Ham, Sr; two brothers, Deacon Clarence Peed, Sr. and Ike Smallwood, Jr; grandson, La’Hasani Moss; two great-grandchildren, Keyshaun Jamal Ham, and K’Chaunte Victoria Ham. Mother Mary Bell Ham leaves to cherish her sweet memories, three sons, Dannie L. Ham (Zina) of Chocowinity, NC, Elder Charles R. Ham, Sr. (Bettina) of Petersburg, VA, Bishop Stewart N. Ham, Sr. (Deborah) of Chocowinity, NC; four daughters, Valerie H. Tuten of Aurora, NC, Arlene F. Ham of the home, Darlene H. Moore (Lloyd) of Blounts Creek, NC, Debra A. Ham (Friend Jason) of Winterville, NC; daughter-in-law, Betty L. Ham, Aurora, NC; adopted daughter, Mary J. Jenkins (Mike) of Aurora, NC; 14 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren;1 great- great grandchild; two sisters-in-law, Mother Annie L. Peed of Aurora, NC and Mrs. Helen Smallwood of Norfolk, VA; sister of adoption, Alice Hamilton Griffin of Minnesota; step-sister, Carrie A. Moore of Fayetteville, NC; step-brother, Andrew Earl Adams, Sr of Brooklyn, NY; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends; a devoted life-long friend, Mother Zella Mae Stilley and the Mother Board team, Mother Mary Gaynor, Mother Lois Hooten, Mother Nancy Fonville, Mother Ethel Guion; three good friends, Minister Clyde Bryant and Pecora Bryant of Aurora, NC, Kelee Yates of New Bern.
