Lisa Devan Walters was born May 18, 1966 in Brooklyn, New York to Charlie James and Geraldine Devan Walters. She attended high school at Sara J. Hale, Brooklyn, New York, where she graduated in 1984. She then went on to further her education at Elizabeth City State University. Lisa loved God, her children, sweets, and horror movies. She was kind hearted and soft spoken, but meant what she said when she said it! She worked at St. John Hospital, Far Rockaway, New York for five years as a coder before shifting her career to child care in Greenville, North Carolina. In her earlier years, she loved to cook on the grill and invited what seemed like the whole neighborhood to enjoy her food. Marc Jacobs was her favorite perfume. Whenever she entered the room, you could smell it on her. She believed you had to look good and smell good wherever you went. Lisa was a member of York Memorial AME Zion Church. She made sure all of her children knew God and had a relationship with Him. One of her favorite songs was "Yes" by Shekinah Glory Ministry. On July 25, 2022, she left her earthly pain for her eternal promise. Carrying on her legacy, she leaves her mother, Geraldine Walters; one daughter, Acolia Conley, Greenville, NC; three sons, Quawshawn Conley (Quoya), Kinston, NC, Elijah Conley (Antionette), Greenville, NC, and Emmanuel Conley, Greenville, NC; five grandchildren, and a host of cousins, friends, aunts, and uncle to cherish memorable times with her.
