Mr. Glenn "Pappy" Little Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Glenn MacArthur “Pappy” Little was born to William and Gladys Little on July 13, 1952. He fell asleep in, OUR LORD Jesus Christ on January 29, 2022 at his home in Peoria, IL. Glenn spent his formative years Stokes and Robersonville, NC. At a young age, Pappy, as he was best known, enjoyed playing Army with his siblings, cousins, and friends. He loved watching military shows and war movies as he got older. The intriguing thought of being a soldier motivated Pappy to join the Boy Scout Troop #173 in the late 1960’s under the leadership of Mr. George Lynch. Pappy was also a ‘cowboy’ at heart. Watching westerns was better than eating ice cream. He would spend hours relaxing in his favorite recliner feasting on every western imaginable. There wasn’t a western show he had not seen. As a kid, Pappy also enjoyed riding ponies and horses. He would often close his eyes and daydream about living on a ranch, raising his own horses, and enjoying the fruits of his labor. Pappy had many interests. A few of his hobbies were assembling and painting intricate model cars, drawing/art, and watching documentaries. Pappy never met a stranger and had an infectious laugh paired with an awesome sense of humor. Everyone who knew him and heard that distinct laugh, knew it was none other than “Pappy Glenn.” Glenn was a man who wasn’t too proud to say, “I’m sorry.” A man who profusely apologized at every turn, and his family can most certainly attest to this truth. Glenn attended East End High School and blossomed into a talented drummer in the school’s marching band. He didn’t read music, and he didn’t need to--it was one of the special gifts God bestowed upon him. Glenn finally became the soldier he had dreamed of since he was a child. He loved the structure of the military. He served in the US Army with distinction from May 1974 to May 1977. He was stationed at Fort Bragg, NC, initially a member of the 18th Airborne Corps until reassigned to the 119th. He also served in the US Army National Guard in Williamston, NC, and Peoria, IL, for 18 years. In September 1975, Glenn and Georgia Worsley was blessed with a beautiful son, Kalsey Little. In 1979, Glenn was employed at Hallmark in Robersonville. When Hallmark closed its doors, Pappy remained with the company and relocated to Peoria, IL. He maintained his employment with Hallmark (totaling 35 years) until his retirement in 2014. Glenn was preceded in death by his late father, William M. Little. Glenn is survived by his partner, Diane Eggleston of Peoria, IL; his son, Kalsey Little; his mother, Mother Gladys Little; his brothers, Wilmer Fleming, William Little, and Keith Little; his sisters, Evelyn Little, Joyce Powell, and Patricia Ryan (Timothy Ryan); his two granddaughters, Olivia Virginia and Shakara Beasley; ten nieces and nephews, Reginald Fleming, Derrick Little; Charlene Little, Thomas Powell, Joseph Powell, Kenny Ryan, Matthew Ryan, Heather Ryan, Rachael Taylor (Joshua Taylor), Keith Little II; and a host of unforgettable relatives and friends both near and far. Rest in Christ “Pappy.”
