Mrs. Flocine Spruill

February 1, 1930 - June 12, 2020

Flocine Spruill was born on February 1, 1930 in Martin County to the late Charlie Purvis and Irene Spruill. She departed this life on Friday, June 12, 2020. At an early age she joined the Jones Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Palmyra, NC. Flocine was a skilled laborer that loved gardening. She was employed at the Artichoke Kitchen for well over 20 years. She was well known for her strong work ethic, upbeat spirit and her kind heart and giving nature. She enjoyed cleaning, wildlife, cooking and feeding everyone she met. Flocine was described as a “Sweet Lady” by everyone that met her. Flocine was preceded in death by her children, Ethel Mae “Essie” Spruill, L.C. “Bee” Spruill, Tammie Terrell Spruill and William Earl “Buddy” Spruill. Flocine leaves to cherish her memories, her children, Lulu Mae Spruill of Scotland Neck, NC, Laylou Spruill of the home, Hazel Mae Thomas (Paul) of Oak City, NC, Antoinette Locke (Delrosol) of Oak City, NC; three brothers, Johnny Owen Spruill of the home, June Spruill of Hampton, VA, James Spruill of Hobgood, NC; seventeen grandchildren; a host of great grand, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, special friends Melba “Ruth” Locke her riding partner, Eva Mae Council her telephone partner, Brenda Rogers, David Ridley, other relatives and friends.
