Mrs. Doris Campbell Ishman Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Mrs. Doris Campbell-Ishman was born to the late Eddie Campbell and Mozella King in Bennettsville, SC on October 29, 1940. On Saturday, March 12, 2022, she departed this life while surrounded by her loved ones, and she now rest in Jesus until the trumpet sounds on “that great day” when Jesus comes again. Doris was educated in the Marlboro County public school system in Bennettsville, SC. At the age of seventeen she was married to John McCaskill Sr, in which she had two children, John McCaskill Jr. and Mabelle McCaskill. During the year of 1962 she relocated to Long Island, NY, briefly for a live in job and later moved to Jersey City, NJ. It was there when she met and later married Douglas Ishman on March 26, 1966. In 1972 she joined Metropolitan A.M.E. Zion Church where she was an active member for five years. In 1979 she joined Miracle Temple Pentecostal Church where she served as a pastor’s aid, deaconess and a choir member. It was the year of 1987 when she requested baptism preparation with Pastor Richardson at the Beth-El Seventh-Day Adventist Church. She remained a member until 2005 and relocated to Ayden, NC. In 2006, she joined Ebenezer Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Greenville, NC and remained a member until her passing. Doris was preceded in death by her son, John McCaskill Jr; her brother, Eddie Campbell Jr; sister, Edna Campbell-Smith. Doris leaves to cherish her memory, husband, Douglas Ishman; three daughters, Mabelle McCaskill-Johnson of Jersey City, NJ, Doris Delores and Deborah Ishman both of Ayden, NC; grandson, Melvin Campbell of Jersey City, NJ; three sisters, Moselee Campbell of Bennettsville, SC; Mildred Campbell-Jackson of Jersey City, NJ, Cleola D. Campbell-Covington of San Antonio, TX; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
