“I will bless the Lord at all times and His praise shall continually be in my mouth.” Psalm 34:1 Our dearly beloved, Carrie Bell Moore, 88, took her journey home with the Lord on Monday June 25, 2022, in Greenville, NC. Carrie was born on Monday January 15, 1934 to parents Annie Nobles and Orange Simmons. She was educated, for a short time within the Pitt County School System. She celebrated 65 years of marriage with her late husband, J.C Moore before his passing in 2015. Together they birthed and raised two boys, Van Cardell and Frankie Tyrone Moore. For thirty plus years, Carrie worked as an attendant for Central Laundry Services in New Jersey before retiring as a homemaker. If you knew Carrie, then you knew she was a fashion icon. From the finest leathers and furs. Both pointed and peep-toe shoes. Trench coats and ponchos, scarves, broaches, and gloves. Purses of all sizes and colors but most importantly her hats. Carrie was a sassy firecracker. She did not bite her tongue and she was never afraid to say it to your face. For as much sass as she exhibited, the love she has shown towards others has been 10 times as much. Mother Moore was a true worshipper of Christ. Anytime the doors of the church were open, Carrie was there. She worshipped for many years at the Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church in Newark, NJ, under the guidance of Reverend Leonard Shamberger and first lady Mildred Shamberger. Carrie was an active participant in noon day prayer, usher and doorkeeper, hospitality committee, cleaning committee, obedient to leadership, charitable, prayer, bible band and was a faithful tither, and she loved the word. Mother Moore was a woman of God and loves the Lord with all her heart. The Word of God is her source of strength. Mother Moore favorite song was “I Want To Be Ready When Jesus Comes.” Mother Moore was preceded in death by her parents, Annie and Orange; her husband, J.C; her son, Frankie; her siblings, Joseph, Harry Jr., Lent, Lunell “Lula Bell”, Madell, Bobby Jean, Ella Lee, Bobby Jean, Ella Lee, Annie, Betty, and David; granddaughter, Shanta Jackson. Mother Moore is survived by her baby brother, Willie Lee Carr (Denise); baby sister, Rosa Marie Staggers (James); son, Van Moore (Deborah); grandchildren, Donnell Doster Sr. (Shakeemah Gillespie), Jermaine Henderson, Jerrod Bradford, Jade Bradford, and Vanessa Moore; great-grandchildren, Jelissa, Donnell Jr., Donovan, Danielle, Al-Jay, Naydia, Jerrod Jr., Aeryn, Hasan, Suhailah, and Aniyah; great-great grandchildren, Zyaire, M'syyah, Rae’jon, and A’jhani. Although Carrie had only biologically birthed two boys, she was second mother to a few nieces and nephews that were very, very dear to her. It would only be fair to mention them now as she has mentioned them, Betty Anne, Velma, Little Van, as she would call him, Rosa, Junebug, Energy, Kenny, and of course, Nedra; a host of nieces, nephews, friends, relatives, neighbors, and church family.
