Mrs. Barbara Reddick Best

The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. Psalms 23 Barbara Jean Reddick Best was born to the late Clifton and Effie Ree Nobles Reddick on November 29, 1964, in Greenville, NC. She was called to eternal rest on March 15, 2020 at Vidant Medical Center. Barbara graduated from J.H. Rose High School in 1983, she went on to attend Elizabeth City State University, Elizabeth City, NC. Barbara began working for Tar River Manor, then later she was employed by Pitt Memorial (Vidant Medical Center) for twenty-five years until her health declined. Barbara accepted Christ at a young age at Wells Chapel COGIC (known then at The Bottom) Greenville, NC where she sang in the choir, served on the Usher Board and she loved attending Sunday School. Barbara was preceded in death by siblings, Ruby Reddick and Janie Lee Parker. Barbara leaves to mourn her memories, a loving husband, Billy C. Best; son, Shannedoah Reddick; two daughters, Tara and Tamera Reddick; step-daughter, Shamieka Best; eight grandchildren, Ninevah, Jamarion, Jacqua, Myyana, Ty’Quavius, I’zion Kizion, Stashaun; two step-grandchildren, Josiah and Jayden Johnson; three sisters, Doris Seymour, Annree Mahan, Angie Purvis (Willie); one brother, Clifton Reddick, Jr. (Joyce); father-in-law, Billy Barrett; three brother-in-law, Bennie Best, Aljameek Barrett, Mayfield Hugee; four sisters-in-law, Mary Best, Patricia Clemons, Jerusha Shizers, Ashley Langley; special and beloved friends and classmates, Burnette, Donna, Hope, Jeff, Josephine, Lamont, Lynette; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Barbara was a devoted mother, sister, aunt, friend, beloved grandmother and she will always be our “Barbara Jean.”
