Ms. Annie Wishop Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Annie Mae Gary-Wishop, age 70 was born on September 18, 1951, in Halifax County, NC to the late James Gary and Nonnie Parker-Gary. She transitioned from this earthly life into eternal rest on Tuesday, June 21, 2022. Annie received her early education in the Halifax County Schools. Annie joined James Mt. Pilgrim Church in her early years. Later, Annie became a faithful member of His Majesty’s Deliverance Church under the leadership to Bishop Jerry and Barbara Pittman. Annie started singing at an early age and loved singing praises to the Lord. One of her favorite songs was “I’m in your Care.” Annie has devoted her life serving as an assistant director to the youth choir and singing God’s praises wherever she went. She has sung with various groups such as G.W. Singers, Wishop Singers, Deacon Raymond Harrell & The Hassell Gospel Singers, Divine Praise, Lucretia G. Wooten & Promise, Evangelist Mary Brown and the Spiritual Singers, and helped many others. Annie was preceded in death by her parents, James and Nonnie Parker-Gary; son, Bobby Wishop, Jr; brother, James Gary, Jr; sister, Mary Gary-Howell; sister-in-law, Adell Gary. Annie’s beautiful life will forever be cherished by her, two daughters, Rochelle Gary of Robersonville, NC, Monica Gary of Tarboro, NC; one stepson, Stanford Wishop of Hobgood, NC; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; her sisters, Essie Higgs (James) of Bronx, New York, Patricia Clark (Reginald) of Rocky Mount, NC; her brothers, Paul Gary of Speed, NC, Arthaniel Gary (Hazel) of Tarboro, NC, Reverend Roy Gary (Deborah) of Tarboro, NC. Annie will truly be missed by her family, friends, and neighbors who are too numerous to name. She was a cherished member of the community and touched all who knew her.
