A Time to Be Born….. William Marcelus Major, Sr. was born on June 4, 1967 in Suffolk, Virginia to the late Carl Major and the late Alice Graves Major. A Time to Every Purpose Under the Heaven….. Marcel was educated in Smithfield Public Schools. As a young boy, he developed strong work ethics and understood that nothing worth having comes easy. After serving in the Air Force, Marcel attended Stroyer University. His love for graphic designs led him to study program and Web Development. He went on to pursue a career as a Frontend Developer. Marcel designed web pages and apps for Tidewater Finance. He often would design web pages for his family in his spare time. At an early age Marcel joined Union Bethel AME Church where he sung in the Junior Choir. A Time to Love…. Twenty-five years ago, Marcel met Blonnell McIntosh. To this union were two boys, William Marcellus Major, Jr. and Bobby Tyrique Major. He was passionate about spending time with his family. Family time was sacred time for Marcel, for time spent with his family was one of his happiest moments. Family vacations, family gatherings and family anything he was there. Marcel’s pastime included routing for the Dallas Cowboys NFL Team, hunting, fishing and restoring his conquest. A Time of Homegoing…. On April 13, 2019, God took him from his earthly home. In addition, to his parents, Carl Major, Jr. and Alice Graves Major; his loving grandparents, Carl Major, Sr. and Luverdia Major who reared him; he was preceded in death by his sister, Marie Major and his stepmother, Marion Warren. A Time to Mourn….. Marcel leaves to cherish his memories, his loyal partner and wife in kind, Blonnell McIntosh; his children, William Marcellus Major, Jr. and Bobby Tyrique Major of Rocky Mount, NC; his grandson, Kayden Major; his siblings, Darryl Warren (Jennifer), Angela Tookes, Kevin Warren (Angela), Talisha Lambert (Que), Annette Jones Rogers (Jerry), Renita Boone (Terrance), Maloy William, Jr., Theodore Graves; step mother, Annie Major; his mother-in-law, Artensay F. White; sister-in-law, Anastasia “Ann” Chambliss (Lee); brother-in-law, Tony White (Ros), Terrace White (Lorna); a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
