Mrs. Virginia Mae Watts

Jesus rose on the 3rd day which was Resurrection Sunday, Jesus and Momma had a conversation; He brought joy into her heart and a smile on her face as He said, “welcome home my child.” So, on Monday, January 9, 2023, Virginia W. Watts went home to be with her Father. OBITUARY Mrs. Virginia W. Watts was born on February 8, 1929, to the late Moses Peterson and Jane Whitaker Jones of Englehart North Carolina, Hyde County. She later moved to Pitt County where she completed her education. She was joined in Holy Matrimony to the late Charles Clinton Watts Sr. in 1948. Through this union, two children were born: Barbara Ann Watts and Charles Clinton Watts, Jr. She and her husband were both members of Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church in Greenville, NC. Virginia Watts was a homemaker and later became employed at East Carolina University where she remained employed for many years until her retirement. Virginia Watts was an awesome and loving caring individual, a dynamic cook, and a peaceful person who loved to travel with family and friends. She was active in her community. She was a member of the Ruff & Ready Ladies Auxiliary Volunteer Firemen and a member of the Virginia Beach & North Carolina Travelers. She enjoyed getting her nails done and the company of friends playing board games. Mother Watts loved her children, grandchildren, and the entire family. She was the neighborhood Grandma and would do anything for anyone. Mrs. Virginia was predeceased by her parents, Moses Peterson and Jane Whitaker Jones; her husband, Charles C. Watts Sr.; her brother, Thomas Lucas of Norfolk, VA. She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Barbara Watts Green (Robert/ “Bobby”) of Virginia Beach, VA; her son, Charles C. “CC” Watts, Jr. (Annie) of Greenville, NC; three sisters: Geraldine Ball of NY, Maldine Wallace of St. Louis Missouri and Luvond James (John) of Norfolk Virginia; eight grandchildren, Steve E. Watts, Stewart E. Watts, and Latasha M. Williams, Sheena Barrett (Mondrez) of Greenville NC, Felicia Marable-Williams (Anthony) of Orlando, FL, Randy Watts (Nicole), Ashleigh C. Watts of Cary NC, Christopher C. Watts of Raleigh, NC; 19 great-grandchildren; and a host of great-great-grandchildren, nieces, great-nieces, nephews, great-nephews, and other relatives and friends.
