Theophilus "Theo" Whitehead, Jr., lovingly known as a "gentle giant," passed away on January 24, 2025, at the age of 51. Born on December 27, 1973, in Bethel, NC to Theophilus Whitehead, Sr and Pauline Whitehead, he was raised in Plymouth and Williamston, NC, where he cultivated a strong work ethic, a kind heart, and an unwavering dedication to his family. Theo was a proud graduate of Washington County Schools and dedicated many years of service to National Spinning. He was a man of many talents, with a gift for cutting hair, electrical work, and building. He took great pride in creating and repairing things for his loved ones, always willing to lend a helping hand whenever needed. His passions included fishing, cooking, and spending quality time with his wife. No matter the hour or the task, if he was needed, he showed up—especially for his mother-in-law, whom he would assist without hesitation. Theo's kindness, generosity, and unwavering support for his family and friends will forever be remembered and cherished. Theo’s legacy of love, service, and dedication to family will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. Theo was preceded in death by his daughter, Briannia Whitehead; his father, Theophilus Whitehead, Sr; sister, Tammie Goss; his father-in-law, Joseph Brown, Sr; his brothers-in-law, Ricky Brown and Milton Riddick. Theo is survived by his devoted wife of 31 years, Vickie Jewel Whitehead of Williamston, NC; his beloved mother, Pauline Whitehead; his siblings, Steven Whitehead (Kameca) of Williamston, NC, Timothy Goss of Williamston, NC, Anthony Whitehead of Williamston, NC, Jennifer Lipford of Williamston, NC, Timothy Barnes of Maryland, Derrick Barnes of New York, Kimberly Whitehead of Raleigh, NC, and Theophilus Whitehead, Jr. from Plymouth, NC; his mother-in-law, Perlie Brown of Williamston, NC; sisters-in-law Debbie Ellis (John) of Shorter, AL, Ramona Riddick of Norfolk, VA, and Juanita James of Norfolk, VA; brothers-in-law, Joseph Brown, Jr. (Linda) of Chesapeake, VA, and William Anthony Brown (Bettina) of Chesapeake, VA; a host aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
