Mr. Scott Miles

A Time to Be Born Scott Derand Miles was born on March 18, 1957, in Edgecombe County, North Carolina to the late David and Helen Miles. A Time for Peace On November 17, 2023, our Lord in his infinite wisdom, allowed Scott Miles to transition from his earthly dwelling to his heavenly home. A Time to Grow Scott was raised in Fountain, North Carolina and received his formal education in the Pitt and Edgecombe County School Systems, where you could find him grinding on the football field. Scott’s love for sports, namely football and basketball, never waned as he was a devoted Pittsburgh Steelers and Los Angeles Lakers fan for many years. Utilizing his competitive nature in his professional life, Scott went on to serve in multiple supervisory capacities in local factories. Eventually he would go on to obtain his Commercial Driver’s License, which afforded him the opportunity to travel the country. Scott was always an intelligent, resourceful, and charismatic personality. It was common for him to quickly become one of your favorite people to be around. He lived his life on his own terms, unapologetically walking through this world with confidence, courage, and unrelenting resilience. A Time to Love Scott’s greatest love was always his family. There was nothing that filled him more than having his children, brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews, cousins and beyond come together for the holidays and/or special occasions. For him, it always meant a time of great joy, togetherness, laughter, and LOVE. Oftentimes, after these moments together, Scott would say, “All my family had a good time. I had my children here with me. I’m a blessed man. I couldn’t ask for anything more.” A Time to Remember Scott was preceded in death by his parents David and Helen Miles. A Time to Cherish Scott leaves to cherish his memories, children, Donalvon Lancaster (Brandi) of Hollister, North Carolina, Christina McNair (Jr.) of Wilson, North Carolina, Crystal Miles of Greenville, North Carolina, Pamela Boone (Seth) of Graham, North Carolina, Lastazia Dickens (Sherrita) of Charlotte, North Carolina, Amire Whitted of Fountain, North Carolina; siblings, David Miles of Greenville, North Carolina, LaForest Jones of Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina, Deborah Campbell (Cleveland) of Lillington, North Carolina, Johnny Miles of Detroit, Michigan, Glenn Miles (Alice) of Fountain, North Carolina, Peggy Miles of Lillington, North Carolina, Shalonda Miles of Raleigh, North Carolina; ten grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, a special cousin, Blanche Bullock, special friends, Lanette Whitted and Mona Lisa Grey, other relatives and friends.
