Tributes

Ms. Sandra Albritton was born in Beaufort County on September 22, 1961 to the late Arthur L. Smallwood and Annie Albritton Tucker. She entered into eternal rest on October 27, 2017, at Vidant Health. Sandra attended school in Washington, North Carolina; graduated from Washington high School. She went to Beaufort Community College where she received her Associate Degree in Business Administration and Accounting. She later gained employment at Beaufort County Environmental Health as an Administrator until she was called home. Ms. Albritton accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior at a very young age. She was a life time member of Davenport Temple Church of God in Christ, under the leadership of Bishop Leroy Jackson Woolard. She served as Vice President of the Ushers' Board, Young People Willing Workers (YPWW) Teacher, Sunday School Teacher, Vice President, Senior Citizens' Ministry, a member of the Security Team. She was the Coordinator of Annual Family Week of Service at Davenport Temple Church of God in Christ. She was in charge of the church's marquee and selected the weekly sayings. She was also known as the "Candy Lady". And practically every Sunday after church, she would distribute candy to the children. In her community, she served as the Secretary of the NAACP and Secretary for the Smallwood Family Reunion. Ms. Albritton leaves to cherish her memories: Three sisters; Sarah Hemby (Theodore) Aurora, NC; Brenda Albritton Blount, Washington, NC; and Jessica Albritton, Washington, NC; Two sisters-in-kind: Deborah Albritton, Queens, NY, and Jean Albritton, Queens, NY: Two brothers-in-kind: John Albritton, Washington, NC and Brian Stokes (Toresso) Washington, NC; Seven paternal sisters and brothers: Antonio Carmon; Regine Carmon; Rodney Pearson; Aniha Harper; Nekia Rogers; Ashley and Antonio Smallwood-Udjate; Three Godchildren: Erica Smallwood , Chelsea Hemby, and Christian Brooks; Three Uncles: Hugh Albritton, Landover, Maryland; Louis Albritton (Clara), Chocowinity, NC; James Smallwood (Georgia), Washington, NC; Two Aunts: Delzora Albritton, Washington, NC and Delores Albritton, Washington, NC; a host of nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; cousins, and her Davenport Temple Church Family. Preceding her in death was her father, Arthur L. Smallwood and her mother, Annie Albritton Tucker; several aunts and uncles; nieces, nephews, and cousins.
