Samson Deliah Staton passed away on March 28, 2024 at his home. Samson was born on May 7, 1950 in Pitt County, NC to the late Jessie Lee Staton (Father) and the late Maonia Foreman Staton (Mother). After Samson graduated from H.B. Suggs High School in 1969, he enlisted in the US Army for several years. Samson returned home from the military in 1972 and began working at White Concrete where he worked as a Concrete Truck Driver. Samson has always worked well with his hands and with his knowledge of cars, he started working at Regional Auto as an Auto Mechanic in 1983 and later began working at Teel’s Auto where he continued in the Auto Mechanic field. After 18 years working as an Auto Mechanic, Samson decided to return to his roots and started working at Ready Mix as a Concrete Truck Driver where he retired in 2012. To know Samson is to love him. Samson has always been full of life and there was never a dull moment when you were around him. Samson’s sense of humor and his willingness to help anyone in need has touch so many lives throughout the years. All those who really knew him, knew he loved Rabbit hunting, fishing, and cooking on the grill. The lives that Samson touched over the years will always keep his memories alive and live on in each one of us. On July 7th, 1970, Samson married Betty Joe Anderson. To this union, two sons and a daughter were born. Terrance Staton, Dedric Staton, and Nikki Staton. Samson accepted the Lord Jesus Christ and was baptized on March 9, 2015. When Samson encountered a visitation from the Lord, he was never the same. His life changed forever and everyone that knew him knew he was no longer the same. Samson was a faithful member of Holly Hill FWB Church until his health started to decline. Samson loved singing, testifying of the goodness of the Lord, and he loved attending “We Are One” Marriage Group and Men’s Fellowship. Preceding his death along with his parents, his sister, Willie Carol Roberts, and his special niece dear to him, Sonia Roberts Foxworth. Samson leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Betty Joe Staton of Bethel, NC; sons, Terrance Staton (Nancy) of Greenville, NC, Dedric Staton (Natesha) of Grimesland, NC, and Nikki Staton of Fayetteville, NC; five grandchildren, Sabrina Staton, Tiffany Thompson (Timaas), Christopher Staton, Malachi Staton; seven great-grandchildren, Nyahna Howell, Nevaeh Tyson, Armani Tyson, Serenity Tyson, Chance Tyson, Pharaoh Haymon, and Traeh Thompson; two brothers, Melvin Foreman (Marjorie) of Greenville, NC, James Staton (Louise) of Greenville, NC; four sisters, Jessie Staton Butler (Frank) of NJ, Deborah Staton Langley (Jimmy) of Greenville NC, Cathy Staton of NJ, Valerie Staton of NJ, and Beverly Staton Cameron (Romaine) of NJ, and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
