Mr. Ralph Brown

“I have Fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing” 2 Timothy 4:7-8 Deacon Ralph Earl Brown Sr. was born on July 30, 1950, in Williamston NC. He was the son of the late Mr. Randolph “Randa” Brown and Mrs. Blanche Mae “Bate” Brown. Reared in a Christian home, he accepted Christ at an early age. He joined Cedar Hill Missionary Baptist Church where he served as an Usher, Trustee, and Deacon. Ralph was a faithful prayer warrior and worked diligently in and around the church. God called Ralph home on Good Friday, April 18, 2025, at ECU Health, Greenville, NC. At a young age, Ralph attended Martin County Public School. He graduated from E. J. Hayes High School, in Williamston, NC. Ralph was a truly dependable and hardworking man, that embodied commitment and dedication. He lived by the motto to be “Fair, Firm, Consistent, and Friendly.” He worked at Sears Roebuck, before beginning his career with North Carolina Department of Corrections. During his tenure with the state, he advanced in rank beginning his career as an Officer, advancing to Sergeant, then Lieutenant, and ultimately serving as Captain. In 2007, he concluded his career after 33 years of dedicated service. Ralph was a phenomenal landlord for many years. He gave people an opportunity for their families to have a home. He helped numerous people in the community doing landscaping, tilling gardens, handy work, and motivating people about life and the goodness of the Lord. Ralph loved raising animals. He sheltered pigs, goats, and dogs. He loved to hunt and go fishing but most importantly he loved to be around family and friends enjoying life making loving memories. Ralph was married to the love of his life, the beautiful Linda Clark Brown for 55 years and to their union they had three wonderful children. Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, Randolph Brown, Blanche Mae Brown; sister, Deloris J. Hudgins; son, Corbett Razsa Brown; nephew, Frederick McKinley Brown; brother-in-law, Kelvin Clark, Sr. He leaves to cherish his memories his devoted and caring wife, Linda; two children, daughter, Zelinka Brown Harvey of Wendell, NC; son, Ralph Brown, Jr. (Jackie) of Garner, NC; daughter in law, Alicia Brown, of Alabama; two brothers, Randolph W. Brown, and Clinton B. Brown both of Williamston, NC; three sisters, Brenda Wilson (Earl) of Windsor, NC, Claranet Duggins (Ricky) of Hamilton, NC, and Shelia L. Brown of Williamston, NC; one aunt, Lucille Speller of Petersburg, VA; a brother-in-law, Jerry Clark; sisters in law, Jovita Taylor, Tonya McGill, Renaissance Clark; 19 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren whom he loved dearly; host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Deacon Ralph Earl Brown, Sr., will truly be missed by everyone who knew him.
