From Thanatopsis by William Cullen Bryant Born in Williamston, North Carolina October 11, 1952, Peggy was the daughter of the late Lou Pearl Brown. Having been reared in a Christian home, she accepted Christ at an early age and joined Cedar Hill Missionary Baptist Church. She was actively involved in her church where she served diligently as President of the Mission Circle, and sang in the Senior Choir and the Inspirational Choir. She attended the public schools of Martin County. Peggy was a certified child nutritionist and was employed by the Martin County Board of Education until her retirement. She was also a member of the Martin County Schools Nutritionist Association. On April 22, 2014, God called Peggy from her earthly abode to her eternal home. The family is grateful to God for blessing us with the life of Peggy Brown Biggs. We are especially thankful for her love, hard work, encouragement, her constant companionship she gave her family and others alike. Her humble and caring spirit will be sorely missed. On January 27, 1974, Peggy Brown married Joseph R. Biggs. The Lord blessed this union with three children. One daughter, Conicka Biggs, preceded her in death. To rejoice in her memory and to mourn her passing she leaves her husband, Joseph Biggs of the home; two daughters, Shonta Biggs of Greenville, NC and Lagala Biggs of Williamston, NC; one step daughter, Cindy Rodgers (Shannon) of Williamston, NC; three grandchildren; one brother, Horace Brown of Williamston, NC; one sister, Vema Perry (Levi) of Williamston; sisters in kind, Martha Peele, Susie Gray Lee, Ann Washington, Alice Rhodes, and Mary Brown; brothers in kind, Johnnie Evans, Jerome Evans, Larry Evans, James Evans, Thurman Brown, terry Brown, Walter Lee Brown, Edward Brown, and Irvine Brown; four brother-in-laws, Jimmy Biggs of Hampton, VA, Luke Biggs of New York, NY, Billy Biggs(Janice) of Herndon, VA, Frankie Biggs of Williamston, NC; one sister-in-law, Patsy Dempsey of Brooklyn, NY; two uncles, Walter Brown (Louise), Sammy Sykes; five aunts, Martha Brown, Blanche Brown, Nancy Stallings, Ella Riddick, Lettice Goddard; a special niece, Franchesca Biggs, a special nephew, Samuel Johnson, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
