I, Nicholas Stewart-Burnis Summrell am the son of Laverne “Nanette” Kornegay and Ronnie Carter of Winterville, NC and Julius Stewart Summrell of Greenville, NC. I was born on March 23rd 1993 and I made my transition to my heavenly home on April 27th 2018. My nickname “Suge Knight” was given to me by my cousin Brooks Howard. Since my childhood in Simpson I had the love of baseball. I played for the Simpson Saints with my cousins “The Andrew Boys” and “Suggsy Lee”. I am the proud graduate from the Class of 2011 at South Central High School. There I met my best friend Courtlyn Worthington. I mastered football and wrestling. I won numerous awards with it as well. Ask anyone about “Big Nick”. I was independent and I loved to work. I worked sometime for Clarcor formerly known as “Stanadyne”. My life was characterized by love. I loved God, my family and people in general. I never met strangers. Anything that I could do for someone I would. I was preceded in death by, my grandfather, Burnis “Plute” Kornegay, Sr.; my grandmother, Olivia Streeter; my great grandmother, Louise “Sis Kennedy” Kornegay; my uncle, Burnis”Dick” Kornegay, Jr.;my cousins, Nikki Harper, Dre Suggs and Delano Nelson. I leave to cherish my life memories, my parents Laverne “Nanette” Kornegay and Ronnie Carter of Winterville, NC and Julius Stewart Summrell of Greenville, NC; my sisters, Nicole Summrell (my twin sister), Krystal Carter of Winterville, NC, Katrina (Jermaine) Alexander of Greenville, NC; my brother, Isaiah Summrell of Greenville, NC; my grandmother, Lillian Kornegay of Greenville, NC; my aunts, Mechio Kornegay of Simpson, NC, Lorraine Moore of Grimesland, NC; my great uncle, Willard Gatlin of Hampton, VA; my great aunt, Nekithaer Kornegay of Greenville, NC; my very special cousins, Twanda Roundtree of Greenville, NC, Tyrone Kennedy of Elizabeth City, NC; my extended family, The Morris Family of Raleigh, NC and Atlanta, GA, Deborah Taylor of Farmville, NC.; my best friend, Courtlyn Worthington of Raleigh, NC; my A1, Day 1’s, BJ Hardy, Darrion Moore, Eric Moore, Rashad Gardner, Brooks Howard and Calvin Hardy all of Simpson, NC; my home girls, Jessica Murray, Akeela Battle and Tiffany Brown all of Simpson, NC. In my life I was very privileged. I traveled to Disney World, Jamaica, The Bahamas and many states over the country. To me there was no place on this Earth like the Village of Simpson.(SI). You could see me every day walking to my cousins, Boot Telfair, Jessica Murray and James Smith houses. Special family members that I adored as well were, Aunt Peaches, Step Brown and Sudie Jean.
