Mr. Mike James Outlaw Jr

Mike James Outlaw was born on March 15, 1949, in Ayden, North Carolina, to the late Mike and Jessie Andrews Outlaw. He peacefully departed this life on August 4, 2026, at MacGregor Downs Health Center in Greenville, North Carolina. Mike spent his early years in Ayden, where he attended the local public schools. He proudly served his country in the United States military before embarking on a successful career in automobile sales. He later became one of the top sales professionals at Phelps Chevrolet, where he faithfully served for 26 years. Known for his honesty, knowledge, and genuine care for others, Mike helped countless individuals find the right vehicle and earned the trust and respect of his customers. Mike was a faithful member at Zion Chapel Church, Ayden, NC. He served as a Sunday School Teacher, and a Member of the Trustee Board. Although illness eventually led to his retirement, Mike never stopped sharing his wealth of knowledge about purchasing automobiles. Even during his time at MacGregor Downs Health Center, he continued to inspire and encourage everyone who entered his room. His positive spirit, warm personality, and sense of humor earned him many affectionate titles, including "Mr. Wonderful," "CEO," "Mr. Law," and many others. Mike was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Anderson Outlaw; his parents, Mike and Jessie Andrews Outlaw; and his sister, Lena Darden. He leaves to cherish his loving memory his daughter, Yolonda Murphy (Cameron); his sons, Mike Outlaw III and Jody Anderson; six grandchildren, Orlondo Finney, KayShawn Outlaw, Kyle Outlaw, Johnathan Anderson, Brendan Hollis, and Bridget Anderson; three brothers, William Andrews (Barbara), Arlester "Andy" Andrews (Lorraine), and Ervin Andrews (Annette); one sister, Barbara Eubanks; two nieces, Candace Arrington and Monique Beasley; his cherished bonus family, Randy and Jackie Blount, Marcus and Rasheta Bell, Calvin and Sonya Edmonds, Cedric and Kimberly Lloyd, Rylee, Callie, Tamara, Tylasia, Landon, Liam, and London; his devoted personal assistants, Jerry and Vickie Little; his entire MacGregor Downs Health Center family; and a host of cousins, extended family members, and dear friends. Mike's legacy of kindness, wisdom, encouragement, and unwavering faith in others will forever be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
