Mr. Marvin Lee Hamilton

Marvin Lee Hamilton known as “Dude” was the son of the late Mary Jones Hamilton and Freddie B. Coffey born November 24, 1949 in Aurora NC. Marvin departed his earthly life July 5, 2018 at the home of his daughter. Marvin attended SW Snowden High School until he relocated to Brooklyn NY with his mother and step-father George Hamilton where he attended Mark Twain High School. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corp in April 1968 where he served his country for two years during the Vietnam War. Marvin returned to Aurora NC in 1971 where he was employed by the former Texasgulf Phosphate Company. Marvin met the love of his life Mittie Jean Little who preceded him in death, and they were United into Holy Matrimony on May 27, 1973, and to this union was born one daughter Christa Babette Hamilton. Marvin joined Jones Chapel at an early age, where he sung with the Jones Chapel Men’s Choir and later joined St Anna Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor David Moore Jr., where he also sung with the St Anna Men’s Choir. Marvin was preceded in death by his mother, father, step-father, sister, Marilyn Knight; brothers, Anthony George Hamilton and Freddie B. Coffey; step-son, Sylvanus Little; great grandson Ty’Mel Deon Jones. He leaves to cherish his memories his daughter, Christa Babette Hamilton of the home, one step-son, Delmar Little(Shatonie) of Greensboro, NC, two granddaughters, Brittney Moore of Chocowinity, NC and Quinyania Moore of Killeen, TX, three grandsons, Tramon Peacock of Maryland, Stefon Little of Washington, NC and Deonte Mitchell of Winston, Salem NC, seven sisters, Hope Hamilton of Aurora, NC, Erica Sears of Ayden, NC, Frances Jeffers (Paul) of Mastic- Beach, NY, Marilyn Darden (Damon) of Orange Park, FL, Sharon Coffey and Tammy Coffey of Yaphank, NY and Pamela Wilson(Larry) of Wyanbanch, NY; six brothers, Andra Harper(Emily) of Greenville, NC, Cordice Hamilton(Marilyn) of Aurora, NC, Larry Hamilton (Sander) of Temple, TX, Victor Coffey(Vivian) of Greensboro, NC, Mitchell Coffey of Yaphank, NY and Kenneth Coffey(Joanne) of Gibsonville, NC; nine aunts, Annie Smallwood, Laura Jennette , Lula Jennette and Pearlie Hamilton of Aurora, NC, Mary H. Hamilton of Round Rock, TX, Christine Wright of New Bern, NC, Frances King of Vanceboro, NC and Mary Parker of Ohio; three uncles, Woodford Jones Jr. and Jerry Jones(Ethelene) of Ernul, NC and Stephen Jennette (and aunt Sally) of Aurora NC; five sister-in-laws, Patti Williams of Washington NC, Marilyn Miller of Blounts Creek NC, Betty Ham of Aurora, NC, Ola Stone(Reginald) of Tennessee and Sylvia Little of Winston, Salem NC; four brother in-laws, Glenn White, Reginald Knight of Pactolus, NC, Carlos Moore of Maryland, NC and Gary Stilley of Blounts, Creek NC, a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
