Mr. Lonny Brown

This is the story of Lonny Brown Lonny was a wonderful person that was loved, is missed, and will always be cherished. “Lonny Boy” as he was called by his family, “Lonny Links”, as he was called by his customers, and “LB” by his close friends, was an amazing son, brother, father, and friend like no other could imagine. Lonny’s story starts on April 5, 1975, the oldest child to Johnnie Ray Baker and Shapiro Council and was born in New Jersey. While Lonny was a teenager, his mother moved their small family to North Carolina, where he would spend the remainder of his childhood. He graduated from JH Rose High School and remained in Greenville, NC where he made many lifelong friends. Lonny grew up to be a handsome young man with a very contagious smile. He was proud to be the grandson of the late Lester Brown, Sr. and would remind you of his last name and his favorite saying “who-u-wit”. After high school, he entered the real world by working various jobs. He finally found something he really enjoyed, working with the cable company. Lonny took the job so serious that he felt it was his own company. That is how he developed the name “Lonnylink” instead of the official name Suddenlink which is where he learned the trade. He devoted over ten years to Willis Cable where he was currently employed. He is being honored with his own personal cable truck #3134. He was a role model for his children. He loved his children, but they knew when he meant business. In addition, Lonny was a grandfather and they were his joy and heart. Lonny called them “My Pootsy” and would talk about them all the time. He had a good support system from his family and friends. But in reality, he was the backbone to his mom, brother, sister and kids. Lonny was well known in the community for his grilling and barbering skills. Having a good time and exploring life were some of his pleasures. He recently extended his pleasure seeking all the way to Las Vegas where he was the same old person getting the party started in the elevator, around the pool and wherever there was music. He was the life of the party. Loved ones that will miss Lonny until they meet again, father, Johnnie Ray Baker; mother, Shapiro Council (Willie); brother, Teddy Lamont Brown; sister, Geniva Brown; three sisters and one brother all of New Jersey; sons, Darielle Moye, Hasheem Brown Riddick “Toot”, Dajuan Williams “Teapot”; daughter, Karla Williams “Ladybug”; grandchildren, Ava Williams, Nasir Riddick, Major Brown Williams; grandmother, Gladys Bridges; grandfather, Booker T.; a special friend; a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
