Mr. Lamar Hines

Lamar Jaquan Hines was born on September 7, 1991 in Pitt County to Linda Kay Hines and Lee Junior Andrews. He departed this life on Monday, February 20, 2023, at ECU Health Center, surrounded by his loving and devoted mother and family. Lamar grew up in Pitt County where he attended the Pitt County Schools. He was a graduate of North Pitt High School class of 2009. He played basketball at North Pitt and AAU basketball with the Hightower Hoopsters coached by Darrick Mullins. Lamar furthered his education at Pitt Community College, Winterville, NC. Lamar joined New Wynn Chapel at an early age, under the leadership of Pastor James T. Lindsey, Sr. Lamar worked at Blount’s Precision Machinery in Bethel, NC until his health declined. Lamar was a very humble spirit person. Although Lamar had no kids of his own, he thought Aumon, RonCey Jr, Shaniya, Jamari and Zy’Ayre were his kids. Lamar was always G’d up when he stepped out, and his favorite line was “Am I straight.” Lamar was a big part of his community and our family, and he will be missed dearly. Lamar was preceded in death by his father, Lee Junior Andrews. Lamar leaves to cherish his memories his mother, Linda Kay Hines of the home; his brothers, Cerone Hines and Leveon Hines both of Bethel, NC; three God-Sisters, Janita Powell (Terry), Taylor Mullins and Shaniya Heath; his grandparents, Bobby and Annie Hines of Bethel, NC; Fannie Andrews of Bethel, NC; six aunts, Joyce Hines, Shelia Wilkins and Renee Roberson all of Bethel, NC, Polly Knight (Henry) of Raleigh, NC, Vanessa Andrew and Annette Anderson (Lucian) both of Greenville, NC, eight uncles, Clayton House (Ruby) of Connecticut, Jeff Hines of Bethel, NC, Gregory Hines (Malinda) of Belvoir, NC, Raymond Little (Lois) of Bethel, NC, Shelton Davis (Lukisha) of Greenville, NC, Johnny Wilkins (Doris) of Greenville, NC, Ben Andrews of Winston Salem, NC and Larry Andrews of Greenville, NC; two nephews, Aumon Brown and Jamari Edwards; a host of great aunts, great uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
