Mr. Kijuan Nafix Land

KIJUAN called by many as “Kyle” was born November 20, 1985, in Pitt County to Darryl and Mary Land of Greenville NC. Kyle peacefully entered rest on June 22, 2024, at 8:24 AM at Moses Cone Medical Center. KYLE attended Martin County Schools where he graduated from Roanoke High proudly representing the Class of 2004. He played on the National All-Star Bowl at Tennessee Tech University on June 14, 2004. He competed in the RAW National Powerlifting Championship in deadlifting/squats and ranked 10th place in the State. Kyle attended Wingate University where he pursued a football career as a defensive tackle. His favorite football team and player was the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with Warren Sapp on defense tackle. If you ever got to see Kyle play football, playing defense came natural especially when having the “eye of the tiger” as his dad taught him. KYLE earlier years of school, he tutored students at Edna Andrews Elementary, this is where he began to be known as the comedian of his peers. He proudly represented the Superlative “Class Clown”. He was undoubtedly the life of the party. KYLE took a strong interest in zoology throughout his entire life, enjoying any show on the Discovery channel such as his favorite, Animal Planet. He loved animals. KYLE spent a great amount of his life in Atlanta, GA where he continued to pursue his passions, Fishing, Music, Cooking and Fashion. He loved his boots. He was a Sous Chef at Sugar Factory and multiple Fine Dining Restaurants. Kyle perfected his Famous Honey Bun Cake and Banana Pudding at an early age. Honey Bun Cake was his family’s favorite. KYLE had a love and strong passion for singing. Idling the late Whitney Houston and Luther Vandross. If you knew him well, Fantasia Barrino was wrapped around his finger and heart. Kyle spent most of his time perfecting his craft and creating his own music of R&B/Gospel. He was a Member of the Lloyds Chapel C.O.G.I.C. Most of the time, you could find him writing music, listening to music, and singing amongst himself wherever and whenever. Kyle was in the process of debuting his first solo album entitled “LOVE”. KYLE moved back to North Carolina in April 2024. He was currently employed at Walmart in the electronic department in Greensboro, North Carolina until his death. KYLE leaves to mourn and cherish everlasting memories his mom and dad, Darryl and Mary Land of the home; two sisters whom he cherished dearly Kierra Land, who he called “Keye-Pap” of Atlanta, GA and Laquanza Little, who he called “Qua” of Greensboro, NC; seven aunts, Lil Sis, Greenville, NC, Carol, Bloomfield, CT, Mel, Greenville, NC, Connie, Richmond, VA, Fern, Wilson, NC, Veat, Williamston, NC, and Arlene, Williamston, NC; five uncles, Lerick, Robersonville, NC, Elliott, Robersonville, NC, Kenny Ray, Greenville, NC, Jr, Charleston, SC, Craig, Conway SC; cousins: “The Famous Roll Dawgs,” Poncho, Sheltony, Darema, Don, Shell, Misha, Naka, Deven, J, Tay, Tre, Devon, Andre, Jessica, Tee, Dorsette, Tika, Shatona, Shadonna, Kaniah, Dominick, Walter, and Taifa; adopted aunts; Lil Bay, Sherry, Doris, Mag, Mary; God-mom, Carlon; God sisters, Torvette, Nikki and Shink; God brothers, Jarvin, Lil Man, TT; one special nephew, Nugget; a host of family and friends from across the world.
