Juanita Rene Williams Wiggins departed this earthly life on January 14, 2026, after an extended period of illness. At the time of her passing, she was under hospice care, surrounded by love and the comfort of those who cherished her deeply. Juanita was born on July 26, 1965, to Betty and John “Buddy” Williams. From an early age, Juanita carried a quiet strength and determination that would define the way she lived, loved, and led her life. A woman who deeply valued education, Juanita was educated in the public schools of Martin County, North Carolina. She went on to earn a diploma in General Office Technology from Martin County Community College in 1986. Her commitment to learning never faded with time—she remained determined to complete her college education. In an inspiring testament to her perseverance and pride in personal growth, Juanita graduated with honors from Elizabeth City State University in 2024, fulfilling a lifelong goal and leaving a legacy of resilience for all who knew her. Juanita dedicated over 25 years of service to Eastern Area Health Education Center (EAHEC), where she worked in a myriad of roles and made an impact through her diligence, professionalism, and generosity of spirit. Most recently, she served as an Administrative Support Specialist, a role that reflected her steady excellence, attention to detail, and the unmatched care she brought to everything she did. She was preceded in death by her father, John Williams. Juanita was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, and friend. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Danny Wiggins, with whom she shared almost 40 years of marriage and a lifetime of partnership. She also leaves to cherish her memory three adult children: Anthony (Samantha) L. Griffin of Fayetteville, NC; Leeza (Kamri) Wiggins of Raleigh, NC; and Danita Wiggins of Durham, NC. She was a proud grandmother to Amora and Arya Hill of Durham, NC, who brought her immeasurable joy. Juanita is also survived by her mother, Betty Williams of Williamston, NC; one sister, Yolanda (Ralph) Soney of Winterville, NC; one brother, Larry (Ann) Gilliam of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; along with a host of other family members, friends, and loved ones who will continue to honor her memory. In her spare time, Juanita found joy in the simple and meaningful things. She loved spending time with her family—especially enjoying every moment of watching her grandchildren grow—traveling to new places, crocheting with care and creativity, and line dancing with a spirit that could light up any room. She carried warmth, grace, and quiet strength—offering love in ways that were steady, sincere, and unforgettable. Juanita’s absence leaves an ache that words cannot fully capture. Yet her life remains a testimony: of endurance, of faith, of devotion, and of the power of finishing what you start. Though she is no longer here in body, her love will remain present in the lives she shaped, the family she nurtured, and the legacy she built with her own hands. She will be deeply missed, always loved, and forever remembered.
