Jimmie Bacote Williams, born on January 16, 1945, in Florence, South Carolina, to the late Lawrence Williams and Mamie (Bacote) Williams-King. He departed this life on Friday, January 31, 2025. Jimmie’s journey began with his service to our country. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1963, followed by his commitment to the U.S. Navy Reserves in 1967. After his honorable discharge in 1969, Jimmie relocated to Elizabeth, New Jersey, where he began his career with the Elizabeth Police Department. In 1973, he transitioned to United Parcel Service (UPS) in Edison, New Jersey. Over his 25 years at UPS, Jimmie held numerous positions and earned many accolades for his dedication. He retired in 1995 and moved to Greenville, North Carolina, where he enjoyed his well-earned rest. On February 13, 1999, Jimmie was baptized and became a devoted member of Ebenezer Seventh Day Adventist Church, where he proudly served as Head Deacon and was actively involved in the community. Jimmie was known for his great integrity, kindness, and his ability to bring joy to everyone he met. His infectious laughter, quick humor, and unwavering support touched the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. He never met a stranger and had a rare gift for making others smile, no matter where he went. Jimmie is survived by his wife, Jessica Morris Williams; his two daughters, Tia Williams Flowers (Kenneth Flowers) of Houston, Texas, and Marquita Williams Stanfield (DeVone Stanfield) of Atlanta, Georgia. He was a proud grandfather to three grandsons, Demetrion Ware II, Davis Stanfield, and DeVone Stanfield Jr.; and two great-grandsons, Demetrion Ware III and Tobius Ware. Jimmie also leaves behind a host of family members and friends who will miss him dearly. We ask that you remember Jimmie not for the way his life ended, but for the profound impact he made on the lives of those around him. His legacy of love, laughter, and service will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. The family appreciates all the support and love during this difficult time. Rest in peace, Jimmie. You will be forever cherished.
