Amen.” II Timothy 4:18 The Angel of her Lord descended on Saturday, May 4, 2024 to carry home the soul of Jeffrey Lamont Clayton to a place of comfort and rest. Jeffrey was the baby boy of the late Fred Lloyd, Jr. and Geraldine Keel Hassell. He was born on January 31, 1972 in Charlotte, NC and was educated in the Martin County School System. Jeffrey was a fighter and survivor, and we know his songs of pain, joy and beauty in the world will fill many people with the happiness he felt for life. Long live the beauty that comes down and through and onto all of us. Jeffrey would like to let you know that his work here is done. He heard his name called by a man with the purist heart and soul and holds All Power in his hands. Jesus was that Man, that came down form heaven to free him from this troubled world to take him to a place of Love, Peace and Tranquility. Jeffrey has been reunited with family and friends that have heard their names called before him. We will remember Jeffrey’s smile, his warmth, his energy, his love for life, family, and friends. He has been a survivor and provider for his family up until he heard his name called. Jeffrey made a difference in the lives of many with the willingness to assist and aide others from the kindness of his heart. Jeffrey loved all his children and loved being around them. He loved being around family creating enjoyable and memorable times. Jeffrey loved all his brothers and sisters, but he enjoyed talking and spending time with his older brother, Jimmy. He enjoyed their relationship because it was nothing, they wouldn’t do for each other. Jeffrey was preceded in death by his parents, Fred Lloyd, Jr and Geraldine Hassell; his brother, Donald Keel. Jeffrey left to cherish the memory of life well lived are Jeffrey’s children, one daughter, Tijah Clayton (late France Short - Mom) of Greenville, NC; one son, Jeffrey Clayton, Jr. (Adrianne Artis - Mom) of Newark, NJ; four sons, Jay-Quan Banks, Jaheim Banks, Elijah Banks, Davon Banks; three daughters, Ciara Banks, Ariyah Banks, Nalyah Banks (Sakina Banks- Mom) of Newark, NJ; two brothers, Danny Keel of Boston, MA, Jimmy Clayton of Mebane, NC; one sister, Joyce Taylor (Gene) of Everetts, NC; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
