Jack Aaron May was born on December 31, 1934 to the late Aaron and Lottie Breakers May in Brooklyn, NY. He departed this life on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 surrounded by his loving wife. Jack attended the Beaufort County schools and obtained his GED from Beaufort Community College. Jack was employed by Ridgewood Manor, Hackney Truck Bodies of Washington, NC, Washington Schools custodian department, and was the owner of Jack’s Cab Transportation Services of North Carolina where he transported patients to different locations throughout North Carolina until his health declined. Jack was member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church for several years and served on the Trustee Board. He was ordained as a Deacon. Deacon Jack started the Male Chorus of St. John and introduce the choir to The United Male Chorus. His church family always spoke of him being a well-dressed Man of God. Jack married Earnestine Little on July 19, 1997. Deacon Jack hobbies consisted of being a member of the Greenville Men’s and Mixed Bowling league. He competed in several bowling tournaments in and out of state. Deacon Jack initiated a Women’s softball team in Washington, NC. His favorite thing to do was travel with the love of his life Earnie. Deacon Jack was preceded in death by his son, Jackie Wallace; his daughter, Fannie May; three grandchildren, Henry May and Courtney May, Robert “Mel” Moore; two brothers, James May, Jobie May; two sisters, Lottie May Warren and Dr. Vandella May Alston. Deacon Jack leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife of twenty-six years, Reverend Earnestine May of the home; his children, Aaron May (Claudette) of Greenville, NC, Vandella May, Jacqueline May, James May, Jobie May and Derrick Hines all of Brooklyn, NY; step-son, Darius Little of Charlotte, NC; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; one sister, Gladys May Williams of Charlotte, NC; one brother-in-law, Willie Little of Desert Hot Springs, CA; three sisters-in-law, Eldress Patricia Crandall (Joe) of Robersonville, NC, Josphine Blackwell of Washington, NC, Carol Allen of Norfolk, VA; two special nephews, Glenn Graves of Atlanta, GA and Jerome Windly of Charlotte, NC; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
