2 Timothy 4:7-8 (KJV) “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.” Galvin Dewayne Roberson, affectionately known as “Dee Dee” or “Brown”, departed his earthly home on Friday evening September 4, 2015 at 7:45 pm. “Dee Dee” exhibited strength, courage and a strong faith in God throughout his illness and only asked of us to be strong. Born September 25, 1973 to Calvin and Lucile Walley Roberson in New York, New York. “Dee Dee” received his education in public and private school of Queens, New York. Upon completion he moved to Johnson City, Tennessee where he has resided until July 2014 at which time he has lived with his parents in Winterville, North Carolina. Dewayne received the Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior and was baptized at Grace Temple Eternal Church in Johnson City, Tennessee. He possessed a compassionate, loving and caring spirit. Always giving of himself and resources for the betterment of his community as a mentor and a friend. His generosity was especially extended to Carver Parks and Recreation Center for the children at the center. He leaves to cherish his memory; his parents, Mr. Calvin & Mrs. Lucile Roberson of Winterville, NC; one brother, Mr. Christopher Kevin Roberson of Richmond, VA; one sister, Mrs. Felicia Perry (Bruce) of Bronx, NY; one adopted sister, Ms. Tamera Foster of Johnson City, TN; three daughters, Mylayja, Leylanie & Maylani; one son, Dalvin; one love son, Broderick; one grandson, Drayden; grandparents, Mrs. Eva Murray of Greenville, NC, Mr. Moses Bonner of Virginia Beach, VA; five uncles, Mr. Leroy Wigfall of Queens, NY, Mr. Willie Wigfall (Beatrice) of Charleston, SC, Mr. Ceaser Walley of Bronx, NY, Mr. David Murray, Jr. (Lynn) of Bronx, NY, Mr. Nelson Murray (Theresa) of Gray, ME; six aunts, Mrs. Melissa McLanughlin (Vernon) of Raeford, NC, Mrs. Gwen Rivera of Bronx, NY, Mrs. Lizzie Packer of New York, NY, Ms. Lois Thompson of Edenton, NC, Ms. Delores Walley of Eutawville, SC, a host of cousins other relatives and friends.
