Sunrise: On July 18, 1956, heaven touched the earth and a boy child was born as God blessed the earth with the presence of Frederick Leon Parker. He was born to the late Daniel Jason and Naomi Best Parker. He was the middle child of five siblings. Frederick was always jovial, carefree and of such a loving nature. He was an avid “Green Bay Packer Fan. He would proudly tell anyone at any time that He was a “Packer Backer.” His favorite greeting or salutation to those he met was “Soul”, but to his brothers he affectionately called them “Rare Bear.” Education: Frederick was educated in the Pitt Co Schools. He was always very industrious. He started to work as a teenager employed with Burger Chef. After leaving Burger Chef he also worked at Daryl’s 1907 advancing his culinary skills., as a homegrown chef. Fred was always looking to improve upon his occupation as he went on to work for 35 years at Fieldcrest Mills Karastan., receiving and achieving a 25-year perfect attendance award. He currently worked 10 years with Hyster Yale, until his health began to decline Fred had many aspirations but one of his favorite pass time was he was a skilled “Chess Player”. Matrimony: Fred met and married the love of his life in the person of Janie Lee Reddick who preceded him in death. Whom he affectionately referred to as “China Doll” Salvation: Fred received the Lord at an early age and he believed on the Lord Jesus and he was saved. He strayed away from the Lord but was led back to the Lord by his brother, Pastor Calvin; (one sibling planted, one sibling watered but God gave the increase), as Fred saw a dire need for the Lord to fill his life. Fred returned humbly and with a repentant heart and he confessed that he was saved and forgiven. Fred was a member of Wells Chapel Church of God In Christ, under the tutelage of Superintendent Austin B. Parker, his Pastor and brother. Fred served untiringly for many years as an usher, being trained by none other than Deacon George DAVIS. Fred had the opportunity to sit and be taught by three Greater North Carolina Bishops} the Late Bishop Wyoming Wells, Bishop L.B. Davenport, and the current Prelate Bishop Leroy Jackson Woolard, Mother Naomi’s sons, Superintendent Austin B. Parker and Pastor Calvin L. Parker. Sunset: On April 15, 2024 the Lord called Bro. Fred from labor to reward. God saw his way was getting hard and his hills were getting hard to climb. God closed his ever-loving eyes and whispered, “peace be thine”. Fred leaves to cherish his memories: Superintendent Austin B. Parker (Carolyn), Daniel Baker (VA), Evangelist Missionary Deborah P. Cannon (Johnnie), Pastor Calvin L. Parker (Sandra), Minister Major C. Parker (Tammy) all of Greenville, NC and a host of nieces and nephews, relatives, special friends and acquaintances.
