Frances Dixon was born on September 22, 1942 to Grover and Lucy Dixon in Martin County, NC. She departed this life on Friday, May 22, 2026 at ECU Medical Center, Greenville, NC. Frances spent her pre-adult years in her hometown of Williamston, NC. She was educated in the Martin County School system. Frances was the mother of two sons, Maurice and Waddell Dixon. They are both deceased and they were the loves of her life. She nurtured them and invested so much of her time and energy in raising them, teaching them and disciplining them. Frances was a single mother at time, but she made sure they always knew she was the boss. Frances migrated to New York as a very young adult. There she worked in the manufacturing industry before becoming a domestic worker. Her final job was working with New York Medicaid. Frances returned to Raleigh, NC in 2018 and lived with her son, Maurice until his death in 2020. She then came full circle and returned to her native city of Williamston, NC. Frances enjoyed reconnecting with friends and family again. Frances surrendered her life to Christ in 2021 and it was obvious that she had become s new creature in Christ. She felled in love with Jesus and the enemy could not steal her praise. Frances started her days early because she wanted to always be sure that she had enough time to read the Word of God, pray and meditate. She was serious about her new walk with God. So serious that she opened her doors each Sunday so Higher Grounds Ministries could hold services at her apartment. Frances was a loving and kind person. She loved family and was willing to help wherever she could. Frances was, however, a very outspoken person and did not hesitate to give people her opinion. She did not mind giving people a “piece of her mind.” Frances did not bite her tongue. Frances was preceded in death by her parents; her sons; one sister, five brothers; and a granddaughter. Frances leaves to cherish her memory, her granddaughter, Brontika Dixon; bonus daughters, Tanya Dixon (Tina), and Savetra Land; her sisters, Loretta Dixon, Dorothy Rawls, Rev. Peggy Dixon Jamison; one brother, McKinley Dixon, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Frances fought a good fight. She was faithful until the end. She could be heard calling on Jesus even in her final hours. Rest well Frances you lived to live again with Jesus. GOODBYE FOR NOW.
