To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; Ecclesiastes 3:1-2 KJV Elijah David Moore was born in Pitt County on November 20, 1977 to Ophelia Moore and Elijah “Dee Baby” Moore. He departed from this life on Thursday, May 7, 2026 at home. Elijah, known to many by David grew up in Parmele, NC. He attended Martin County Schools and graduated from Roanoke High School class of 1996. Elijah was a member of Grace Family Fellowship where he was part of the Men’s Ministry. Elijah worked at Harris Supermarket, Piggly Wiggly and Food lion for many years as a butcher and boy could he slice up some nice and pretty meat. He enjoyed sports and favorite teams was Washington Commanders and Carolina Panthers. Elijah loved wrestling, marvel comic books and playing his video games. He was a pro at fixing computers and rebuilding them. Elijah was very smart and intelligent. He loved his family and made sure to show up at all the family events. Elijah was preceded in death by his parents, Ophelia and Elijah “Dee Baby” Moore; his brother, Luke Jackson; his grandparents and a host of aunts and uncles. Elijah leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 26 years Lakeya F. Moore; two sons of the home, Elijah Moore (Shainel) and Tykevius Smith; one daughter, Danasia Moore of Greenville, NC; a granddaughter, Princess Kennedy who is expected in September; two brothers, Linwood Jackson, Jr of Parmele, NC and Anthony Jackson (Janice) of Williamston, NC; one sister, Cheryl Jackson of Parmele, NC; a Goddaughter whom he loved unconditionally, Tatianna Staton of Greenville, NC; a special niece he raised, Tiffany Lawrence of Robersonville, NC; a special friend, Takisha Lee; three special cousins who called each others brother and sisters, Charles Staton, Jr, Meka Roberson, and Yashica Blackwell; three aunts, Shirley Jean Moore, Evelyn Moore of Bethel, NC and Shirley Kelly of Charlotte, NC; three uncles, Maceo Kelly of Charlotte, NC, James Moore (Mozella) of Bethel, NC, and Christopher Moore of New Jersey; three special friends, Spencer Andrews, Alvin Wilson and Kelvin Coleman; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
