Mr. Dwayne Young Jr

Dwayne William Young, Jr., a Son, a Brother and a Father. Known to family and friends as “Lil Munch,” “Sah”, and “Sami”. Sah transitioned from this life August 12, 2024 in Greenville, North Carolina at the age of 30. Born in Atlantic City, New Jersey to Davida O. Brown- Smith and Dwayne Young Sr. on December 9,1993. Sah had a magnetic personality and was loved by many. Was always the life of the party and loved to be around people. Sah was a talented man and mastered everything he did. His childhood was centered around his passion for basketball, sports, Boy scouts, being outdoors, along with a passion of writing all while being an honor student. His many achievements led him to be nationally recognized which led to his writing being published. With a way of words writing poetry quickly became a gift of his, and he later became a master of rhymes. Driven by success he went onto graduating and earning his diploma from South Central High School in 2013 in Greenville, North Carolina. Sah had a genuine love for fashion as well, never leaving the house without making sure he looked his best, he always stood out in a crowd. Most people who knew Sah knew that he also had a genuine love for cooking. A dream of his was to open his own food truck. His connection with food was truly awe-inspiring and he always had a new recipe to try out. Employed at multiple food locations, Sah was able to express his love for cooking and food in his everyday life. Loved ones will always remember being asked to try new things he had cooked, or to try new restaurants that he had attended. Sah was also a man of love. He was known for his kind and generous nature, and the love he had for others. He loved his family and friends with everything he had and made sure to protect those whom he loved as well. Never hesitant to give advice, a shoulder to cry on, or a smile when needed, he lit up the lives and hearts of all he interacted with. Preceding him in death, his grandmother, Karen Young; great-grandmother, Cornelia Jones; grandfather, David Brown; aunt, Audrey Smalls. Sah’s memory, love, and legacy will live on through his two beloved children, Noah Young and Kassidy Young and their mothers, Shaquita Smith & Brionna Little; his mother, Davida Brown-Smith (Aishah); his father, Dwayne Young, Sr; great aunt, Belinda Young; step-father, Ronald Smith ( Abdullah); his siblings, Denisha Young, Isma’eel Abdullah, Sumayyah Smith, Ya’mirah Taylor, Abdur-Rahman Smith, Fatimah Smith, Mujahid Parks, Hammaad Smith, and Asiyah Parks; his grandparents, Pamela Mauldin-West, Gerald North, and William West; his aunts, Raynece Young, Legeia Brown, Natasha North ,Angela North, Leticia Dillard; his uncles,Dion Young and John North; his special cousins, Billy Young, Melissa Young, Na’jah North, Yamin Bailey, Aniyah Hargis, Madina Neil, Brandon Neil, Raquane Small, and Audrey Gainey, along with a host of family and friends who loved him dearly. Sah’s vibrant spirit and boundless energy will be deeply missed, but his love and legacy will continue to inspire and uplift those who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace, forever in our hearts.
