Cedric Earl Rodgers made his earthly entrance on May 3, 1987, in Greenville, North Carolina, born to Annette Peele Rodgers and the late Alvin Earl Rodgers. He departed this life on December 18, 2025, while at work at the Domtar Pulp Mill in Plymouth, North Carolina. Cedric was a God-fearing man who stood firmly on his faith, his family, and his principles. He boldly lived for Christ and carried himself as a protector, provider, and leader in all areas of his life. Cedric was a high school graduate of Roanoke High School, Class of 2005, in Robersonville, North Carolina. While attending Roanoke, he proudly played the snare drum, trumpet, and saxophone in the marching band. He later attended Winston-Salem State University, gaining college experience before entering the workforce. From 2013 to 2022, Cedric worked for the Town of Williamston in the Sanitation Department and also provided lawn care services throughout the Woodlawn community. In 2022, he transitioned to Domtar, where he worked faithfully until his passing as a Certified Crane Operator. Cedric was a proud member of the International Union of Operating Engineers. Cedric also shared his gifts through music, playing and singing in a gospel band with the Anointed Brothers of Christ from 2014 until 2023, following the passing of the late Michael Williams, Sr. Cedric accepted Christ at the age of 11 at Indian Woods in Windsor, North Carolina. His childhood church was Sandy Point Baptist Church of Williamston, now known as New Life Ministries Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor Anthony Grice and First Lady Loretta Grice. In 2022, Cedric and his family united with Green Memorial Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ) of Williamston, where Pastor Lester Mitchell and Lady Jacqueline Mitchell faithfully serve. Cedric possessed a deep knowledge and understanding of God’s Word. He knew no stranger, and somehow—some way—every conversation would lead back to the Lord, always leaving others with food for thought to dwell on. He made a positive and lasting impact on everyone he encountered. Cedric had a great love for music. When he was not working or spending time with his family, he could often be found playing his drums or bass and lead guitars—always eager to learn and grow. He carried a joyful spirit and a passion for excellence in everything he pursued. In 2009, Cedric met Sheriqueenma Artis Rodgers, and the two fell in love at first sight. In 2011, they welcomed their daughter, Nieenma Alexia Rodgers, lovingly known as “Baby Girl.” Cedric and Sheriqueenma were united in holy matrimony in 2012, vowing to love one another until death parted them. In 2013, they welcomed their son, Niehmn Divine Rodgers, affectionately known as “Mr. CEO” and “Daddy’s Buddy.” Cedric’s children were his world. He took great pride in being present—actively participating in their in-school and afterschool programs, sporting events, and every moment that mattered. Cedric was preceded in death by his father, Alvin Earl Rodgers; his grandfathers, Clarence Rodgers, Sr. and Robert James Peele; his grandmothers, Doretha Rodgers and Bernice Peele; his aunt, Cheryl Smith; and his great-aunt, Marion Rodgers. Cedric leaves to cherish his precious memory his loving wife, Sheriqueenma Artis Rodgers; his children, Nieenma Alexia Rodgers and Niehmn Divine Rodgers; his mother, Annette Peele Rodgers; his siblings, Dahteil Rodgers, Chreighvon Rodgers (Lakisha), and Daniel Rodgers; sisters-in-law, Sheneika Artis (Trequail) and Shereika Artis; brother-in-law, Christopher Artis, Jr.; best friend and brother, “DJ” Dale Askew; special friends, Rico Hardison and Tremain Baker; and parents-in-law, Ella Majette and Christopher Artis, Sr; a host of aunts and uncles, Cynthia (Craig), Charles Rodgers (Mozella), Clarence Rodgers, Jr. (Lizzette), Daryl Rodgers (Keisha), Kenneth Rodgers (Phyllis), Doris Shepard, Mary Jones (Shelton), Marion Booth (Bill), Shirley Rollins (Kevin), and Barbara Marshall (Tolliver); one niece, Cadence Rodgers; and two nephews, Landon Rodgers and Omari Williams. Though his life was far too short, Cedric Earl Rodgers lived with purpose, faith, and love—leaving behind a legacy that will continue through his family and all those whose lives he touched.
