Mr. Billy Gray Tucker

Mr. Bill Gray Tucker was born to the late Herbert Tucker and Dorothy Tucker on January 7, 1944, in Greenville, N.C. Bill departed this life and enter eternal life on Tuesday, April 28, 2020. He received his formal education from C.M. Epps High School, and his favorite subject was English, and his favorite sport was basketball. Billy married Bertha Acklin, and they remained married for over 45years. "Bert" was the love of his life and from their union; two children were born (Reginald S. Tucker, Yolanda D. Tucker). Billy became a faithful and devoted member of the Free Evangelist Church in Washington, DC, where he often assisted his pastor. Everyday living for Billy was being spiritual, putting his family first, and working to provide for them. He was a retired Federal Government worker. He worked for 30 years with the United States Government Printing Office in Washington, D.C. Billy enjoyed socializing with family and close friends and fishing with friends. Billy "never met a stranger" and cultivated a large circle of friends. He and his brothers were often called the "Tucker Boys". Billy enjoyed playing cards, making his famous “Mac and Cheese” while letting everybody know and repeat his favorite saying "I Was A Bad Man"! Greenville was always a special place for him, especially the times when all the siblings were together and attending Meadow Brook Annual Reunion Picnic Day. Billy was preceded in death by his father, Herbert Lee Tucker; his mother, Dorothy Mae Crandol-Tucker; sister, Ann Page-Tucker; brother, Herbert Tucker Jr.; sister, Barbara Tucker-Streeter. Billy leaves to cherish and celebrate his life his wife, Bertha Tucker of Temple Hills, MD; one son, Reginald S. Tucker of Temple Hills, MD; one daughter, Yolanda D. Tucker of Oxon Hill, MD; four brothers, Curtis Tucker (Debbie) of Springdale, MD; Harvey Tucker (Vicky) of Greenville, NC; Wayne Tucker of New Haven, Connecticut and Tyrone Tucker (Gwen) of Lawrenceville, Georgia; sister-law, (Mattie Jean Acklin); four grandchildren, Terria Tucker, Reginald Tucker Jr.(raised as their son), Ganei' Tucker, and Malik Green; one great-grandchild, Kristyn Tucker a host of nieces, nephews, a special aunt, Annie of Simpson N.C., other relatives, and friends.
