Mr. Archie Little

Mr. Archie Little was born September 13, 1935 to the late Lydia Little. He departed this life on November 27, 2014 at Doctor’s Community Hospital in Lanham, Maryland. Archie attended Bethel Union High School. He moved to Washington, DC and achieved a degree in Electrical Engineering. Archie went on to work for DC Water Department of Engineering and Technological Services in which he worked for many years until his retirement. Archie attended Belmont Missionary Baptist Church in Robersonville, NC in his younger years and when he came to NC, that was his home church. He later joined in fellowship with Corinthian Baptist Church in Lanham, Maryland. Archie was a kind, loving and compassionate person. He always made time for all his relatives when he came to North Carolina, especially his aunts and senior relatives. He never forgot a birthday as to send cards to remind you that you were thought about on your special day. He made it a point to name your relationship with him as to say “sister, brother, aunt, uncle, daughter, nephew, niece” or whatever the relationship you were to him. He hand-picked his cards so that you knew that it wasn’t just a birthday card. He truly loved his family and will be greatly missed by all. Archie is preceded in death by his mother, Lydia Little; wife, Thelma Dawes Little; brother, Charles Linberg Little; sister, Velma “Suzanne” Little. Archie leaves to cherish his life, three daughters, Mary Heartley (Harvey) of Raleigh, NC, Barbara Williamson (Harold) of Bethel, NC, Ariel Little of Lanham, MD; one sister, Darlene “Sista” Miles of Greenwich, CT; one brother, William “Dick” Little of Ayden, NC; one uncle, Joseph Highsmith (Ella) of Richmond, VA; two brothers-in-law, Leroy Dawes of Robersonville, NC, Ernest Dawes ( Betty) of Williamston, NC; two sisters-in-law, Elmarie Roberts, Juanita Askew both of Williamston, NC; two god-children, Benjamin and Jimmie Kpadeh both of Chelvy, MD, four grandchildren, Jonathan, Haley, Sharnelle, and Lisa; four nephews, Allen, Gary, Charles Jr, Clay (Tasha~ DJ, CJ, Destiny & Bianna); three nieces, Laura Ann, Kathy, Vanessa, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
