Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day and not to me only, but unto them also that love his appearing.” II Timothy 4:7-8 Annie Grace Little was born on May 3, 1937, in Martin County, NC to the late Carrie Jones & Robert Killiebrew. She quietly departed from this earthly home on Thursday, August 14, 2025 @ 2:30 a.m. at the ECU Health Medical Center Palliative Care Unit, where she lived twenty-one days without food, nor water. Only God! Annie worked various jobs just to provide for her family. She worked on the farm & at Empire Brush. In effort to provide a better life for her family, Annie moved to Brooklyn, NY in 1976, where she lived for approximately 24 years. While in NY, Annie worked as a Security Guard & Laundromat attendant. Missing her Southern roots & the slower-paced life, she moved back home to North Carolina in 2002, where she remained. Her hobbies included: cooking, listening to music, driving, and having a good time with family and friends. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She could make the best hushpuppies, cakes, collard greens. She loved attending her church, St Mary Missionary Baptist Church. Annie along with two of her daughters, Linda and Angela were very instrumental in helping with the move from the old church to the new church, in June, 2014. Once St. Mary’s members were settled and enjoying the new church, Annie and her girls continue coming to the worship service and on Sunday, November 2, 2014, all three of them, stepped out of their comfort zones, to become full pledge members of the St. Mary M.B. Church. Annie worked faithfully in the church, assisting with the Women’s Day Service and the Staton Mill Outreach ministry until her health declined. Even thereafter while seated in her wheelchair, she would ask, “what do you want me to do and how can I help?” One of her last duties was assisting on the Women’s Day program, May, 2024, where she sat in her wheelchair at the front door, passing out fans to everyone that walked through the doors, with the biggest smile on her face. Annie was preceded in death by her parents, Carrie Jones and Robert Killiebrew, her grandmother, who raised her, Anna Jones, her son, James Little, her grandson, Michael Little, siblings, Irene Willis, Elmore Rodgers, Jimmie Jones, Louise Jones, Delores Howard, Velma Leake, Robert Killiebrew, Jr., & Carl Killibrew. Those left to cherish her memories include her three loving and devoted daughters that did an awesome, awesome job taking care of her, Patricia Worsley (George), Linda Little, & Angela Nobles (Felix); one son, Kenneth Little. She is also survived by her beloved sister, Betty Rodgers, fifteen grandchildren, twenty-seven great grandchildren, seven great-great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
