The Battle Has Been Fought The Victory Has Been Won Enter Into The Master’s Joy Alma Faye Tillery Hook was born on December 7, 1947 to the late Jimmie Lee Tillery and Pauline S. Tillery. She left for her eternal journey on April 5, 2020. Alma graduated from East End High School. She attended North Carolina Central University, in Durham. Alma moved to Brooklyn, NY in her early twenties, where she began working for Southern Bell. While in Brooklyn, NY, she met her husband the late Raymond Hook. They were married April 10, 1979 and moved to Orangeburg, South Carolina. Alma left Orangeburg and moved to her hometown of Robersonville, NC in October 2015. Alma was a member of the Rock Hill Baptist Church in Robersonville, NC. When she moved to Orangeburg, SC, she joined Olive Grove Baptist Church. There she was a member of the Senior Choir and Church Secretary. Alma moved back to Robersonville, NC, where she became a member of Roberson Baptist Church and was the Church Secretary. During the summers she volunteer for East End Alumni & W.C Chance Youth Summer Camp. Alma never missed a Tillery Family Reunion. She made it to all 34 of them. Alma was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years; a sister, Dorothy; brother, Jimmie. Alma leaves to mourn three sisters, Pauline M. Tillery, Teresa Tillery of Robersonville, NC, Ethel T Chance of Marshville, NC; two brothers, James E. Tillery of Charlotte, NC, Joe H. Tillery (Sandra) of Hampton, Georgia; one aunt, Ester Smith of Robersonville, NC; one uncle, George Smith (Linda) of Williamston, NC; host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, great-great-nephews; five step children, Gloria Ann, Ronald, Ramona, Corallie and Malik; one special niece & nephew, Delores T & Terence V. Bell of Fayetteville, NC; a devoted friend, Larry Moore of Durham, NC.
